    Good Monday morning.. I had a very nice relaxing weekend (a successful date no.5 ).. Visited my Mom's pal, she had all her kids come into town..very nice for her. They have decided not to start with radiation, She would need 35 sessions and after only 15, they said her mouth would feel like the worst sunburn ever, so they are going to cut away a 1/3 of her tongue. However on a lighter note, they said she would have speach impediment at first but would be eating and talking mostly normal by Christmas..I guess good news right?

    That makes sense. I believe that the tongue is considered to be soft tissue & soft tissue does not always respond well to radiation. There are so many nerves & blood vessels that could make it really difficult for her to function. I think it's good that they feel they can remove part of her tongue to treat this damn disease. Nice that her family is with her & she has so many caring supportive friends.

    Wouldn't it be nice if we could all stop cancer in its tracks?
