Good morning, everyone.

Have a busy day ahead of me. I'm helping with my condo Xmas/Holiday/Seasonal/etc party - we have a committee that likes to plan, but only my neighbour & I ever seem willing to do any work (everyone is too busy at work, so it's up to the 2 most decrepit in the group to haul things around ). At least we'll be getting a good work out.

That makes sense. I believe that the tongue is considered to be soft tissue & soft tissue does not always respond well to radiation. There are so many nerves & blood vessels that could make it really difficult for her to function. I think it's good that they feel they can remove part of her tongue to treat this damn disease. Nice that her family is with her & she has so many caring supportive friends.

Wouldn't it be nice if we could all stop cancer in its tracks?

still a mild day out & so far dry. i expect to see a lot more houses with their xmas lights on tonight on the way home. i noticed there were more houses with lawn ornaments out on the way in. it's only 3 weeks & 6 days away. have your got your shopping done yet?

Good Monday morning.. I had a very nice relaxing weekend (a successful date no.5 ).. Visited my Mom's pal, she had all her kids come into town..very nice for her. They have decided not to start with radiation, She would need 35 sessions and after only 15, they said her mouth would feel like the worst sunburn ever, so they are going to cut away a 1/3 of her tongue. However on a lighter note, they said she would have speach impediment at first but would be eating and talking mostly normal by Christmas..I guess good news right?

sounds like your mum's friend is going the right way. my neighbour down the road had throat cancer & when they did radiation to him, he could barely eat or speak, it was so soar. he lost a lot of weight as well & it took him a long time to recovery from it too. he's beaten the cancer, but it sounded very painful. sending positive thoughts & prayers her way for a speedy & painless recovery.
