Just ordered the QC milk Calendar 2018 because in 2017 I realized I did not have any calendars and need some. They have recepies in the calendar too.

Ordered the CWL (canadian wild life) calendar 2018 too because they have beautiful pictures.
Now to find the 2018 Telus Calendar if it is just for member or not...he is not out yet so cannot tell.

Remembrance Day is unique in our family. I have family members who have done active service. It is also my aunt’s and my brother’s birthday. I used to play in the school band and perform at Remembrance Day services.

Good afternoon! Nice cold day here, we had a lot of snow so I will be shoveling and cleaning the house while DH is out target shooting, then relaxing while he makes meatloaf for dinner. I forgot my bank card at work and it's a long weekend so I won't be spending any money! I didn't realize until I messed up logging in to online banking and had to enter my card number to reset my password. OOPS! I'm doing a lot of online window shopping to plan for my Christmas purchases. Now that my kids are much older I don't do as much pre-shopping during the year, I only have a few generic gifts in my bag. Have a great day everyone!

Today is not going as planned. Pretty sure I am getting sick, I had a horrible sore throat yesterday but was covering invoicing so I had to go to the office. I discovered at the office a good portion of staff is sick as everyone seemed to be walking around coughing. Today my throat is still a little sore and my sinuses are acting up which is causing face and teeth to hurt.
I have spent most of the day on the couch wrapped in a blanket with a cup of tea and crocheting so today is not a total wash as I am working on Christmas gifts. I am working on some of the more detailed projects that use various yarns as they won't travel as well.
I head out of town this week for work, well I am away I plan to do some Christmas Shopping. Since I am away I find it easy to shop as I do not need to cook dinner and I cannot clean up around the house since I am in a hotel, so I find I am more relaxed and not rushing. As well since I will be getting in before Mom gets home I can sneak her gifts into the house. As well I will take a crochet project or 2 with me so I can work on those in the hotel. I like to chill out with some Netflix and crochet when I am in a hotel, I find it super relaxing.
I still need to figure out what I am getting all of the boys and Dad. Hoping some ideas come to me this week as I am at a bit of a loss.
Off to look at some flyers and see if I can get some ideas for some of the people still on my list.
Have a wonderful day everyone2022 is going to be my year, the year I find organization in my life and the year I focus on myself,

@SassyAshley -love the tea and crochet day you have for yourself. I hear you on the throat issues--I plan to start taking the cold & sinus tablets as I've had a slowly dripping nose and tickly throat this week (sibling is on week two of his cold) and want to stop it. Wish you can bounce back over the weekend so your week away goes as planned.
@Frugalbigmama -English muffins> happened to notice Rocco DiSpirito's microwave version of gluten free English muffins, in case that is something of interest for your sons to make.
In a bowl, whisk 1/3 cup buckwheat flour, 1 egg and 1/2 tsp. of baking powder. Pour into a mug coated with cooking spray; microwave 90 seconds. Unmold and cut into 4 slices.
Saw this in most recent issue of First for Women and recipe is from his new book. Sorry, no mention of power setting.
@coupon girl -yes, I recall that you and a few others on SC have remarked on the absence of birthday points offers in your e-mails. That is why I am thinking the offer may not necessarily come around in Jan. 2018.
You have tiny wine glasses; well, Longo's sells in their paper product aisle a tiny set of clear appetizer dishes, a tiny set of opaque white appetizer dishes and small forks (silvery looking plastic ones about the size of French fry wooden forks). Set is $7.99 and the dishes are about 2"x2" or tiny! Think you might want to find out if you have a friend or neighbor who is a foodie and loves to serve appetizers-she or he might like to have the tiny glasses as serving ware!
I was in Longo's yesterday to find a gift for someone I will be seeing soon, so I had strolled down most of the grocery aisles looking for things/ideas. I also noticed that the large rectangular with rounded edges storage container (plastic) by Rubbermaid with Easy Lid is on sale for $9.99 until November 23. Will keep it in mind as Mom could use one (for baked pastries or strudel slices) but I had used my $10 Thank You Rewards credit towards the gift purchase and a chocolate bar for me.Last edited by Ciel; Sat, Nov 11th, 2017 at 03:43 PM.

@cath007 -glad you posted about the QC Milk calendar! Likely next week, the Ontario Milk calendar will be in Hamilton and Toronto papers! Forgot about this freebie! I will post two of three more pumpkin recipes today and the third one will go up on Monday (too long to write out today).

Ooh, the Longos Holiday Issue of their Experience magazine is live online! Guess I better visit the store to get my copy.
p. 37 has a Kale, Farro and Roasted Squash recipe. Plus there is a dairy-free version of scalloped potatoes. Want to try the recipe with veggie broth.

Would that recipe book possibly be one of several that Anne Lindsay wrote? HPL has a couple editions of her Lighthearted Cookbook still in circulation. https://hpl.bibliocommons.com/v2/sea...rchType=author
It looks like the Kitchener Public Library still has some of her books too! http://encore.kpl.org/iii/encore_kpl/search/C__Sanne%20lindsay__Orightresult__U?lang=EN

The only Friday sewing accomplished was restitching a long seam on each sheer bedroom curtain. I must have not noticed the disintegrated seams when I took the sheers out of the dryer in late October and hung them up. I was trapping fruit flies-every morning, some are flying around my windows. At night, when I am reading, I notice my semi-flush mount light cover has a few new deceased flies. I have added a new light fixture on my future shopping at Lowes wishlist so flies won't be able to get inside the new fixture.
Definitely will have a coffee cake made for suppertime & tea today. Cold enough day for cake.2021-Bring on the sunshine, sweets & online shopping.

Hi all. Busy week here. Just two of us..boys are with their mom. We paid arctic winter games registration for ys. And os did cadet marching at ten Remembrance Day ceremony.
Monday dragon had 28 warts N lumps removed (eight hundred dollars later I feel poor). She was pretty out of it. And right ticked off at bf for letting them give her the needle. But now thinks she is a princess because I've had to give her soft food with meds twice s day and she's been sleeping in our room. Because I'm scared she will get stuck on the stairs or fall down them with the cone on. I feel bad for her but the stitches and such don't seem to be hurting. She is pretty clingy though. (A pic below)
Last night I restuffed my pillow. I like the broken foam pillows and you can't get them anymore. So I made one from craft foam a couple years ago. It got smooshed down so I added more. I was a very happy camper at bedtime last night. Bf says he does not have pillow envy though.
Last night I finished stockings for my niece and nephew even added fancy fur cuffs. (Also a pic below)
Today I did house work. Hauled wood and chopped kindling so far. I also did pc work but rather than billing I'm trading my services to go towards our 6 month. Camping spot on the beach. Which is 200 a month for the 6
months. Loved it in august and Sept this year do doing it again.
Now I think I will get some snacks and watch stranger things for a bit.
