I appreciate you posting this and I feel bad that you feel you shouldn't have shared this. Some people want to be sure they are read something factual which is a good way of analyzing data before sharing any opinion. I think that way but honestly whether its true or not, it kind of made my day. I really don't like that shop. I still feel bad for the employees but like someone said on here, it comes with business and its happening everywhere these days.

They're not the only ones. Rogers is more or less quietly closing several of their video rental locations across the country as well. Last count it was 63 stores they were closing..

By the way, La Senza is still owned by Victoria Secret and Victoria Secret made their first foray into the Canadian market that I know of by opening up shop at YVR in Vancouver...could this pave the way for them to open more Victoria Secret stores?

laSensa has been doing a bit of a tail spin for years.. they opened up the LaSensa girls stores a number of years back (honestly i thought it was a bad idea.. a lingerie style store aimed at young girls?! pre-bra wearing age) and it fizzled after a few years.. the quality of their product has always been somewhat disposable, LaVieEnRose seems to have a similar product at similar prices but better quality..

i'm sad for the employees, the after christmas to late spring time is a real lull in the retail industry and a hard time to get a new retail job

Ok, I guess we'll just have to see lol Hopefully nobody has to lose their jobs and everybody is happy, but I'm positive there are many locations closing...

I've bought some stuff from there but I find the product is very... vibrant? Lol. I did score an amazing deal not too long ago where I ended up paying less than $10 a bra with a coupon I had, and I got 9 panties for $30. But all in all, Not my fav store.

I think there's an element of truth to this story. Possibly one or more stores, including the store that the OP's friend of a friend is working at are closing. It's just like a game of Chinese Whispers where the orginal mesage is distored slightly by each person passing the message.

However the OP has almost named her contact on a forum which any-one including La Senza HO staff can read.

Companies tend to frown on staff blabbing sensitive information to all and sundry.

I hope our la senza doesn't close anytime soon! It's the only place in my area to get lingerie!!! Well other than Walmart and Winners...I wait for sales and get a ton of panties and bras at the same time. I'm small chested at a 32-34A or AA depending on the fit and an xs or s in underwear depending on the fit, so it's a great place for me to shop. Plus they let you try things on! Our Walmart won't let you try on any undergarments and it's no returns and I refuse to buy anything I can't try on first.

There are 2 La Senza stores closing in the Windsor market. One is Tecumseh mall and the other is the big outlet store. The employees have been notified.

Many rogers video stores went out a long time ago (1-2 years), it's not an unknown fact that they have chosen to get out of the video rental business as it is on the losing end of the video industry. So they aren't going out quietly.


I'm sure La Senza will close some Canada stores, some of the smaller ones (i.e Lindsay Ont) since they just don't produce enough revenue but as a whole I think La Senza Canada is still going fairly strong. Not that I shop there, but there are always young teens in the store in my local shopping mall. What happened to the UK store is unfortunate, but based on the quality and style of their products I can understand why they are closing.

wow, i'm surprised to hear that! wasn't it just 1 or 2 years ago that the stores under went renovations to change the brand?
