Thanks for the egg recall post, @walkonby ! I haven't bought No Name eggs in about a month's time.
I waited until evening to get some groceries-hearing how cold tomorrow will feel got me thinking best to shop tonight and recover tomorrow (lower back hurts).
Hope any youth heading to school do wear their coats and gloves and hats in the morning, and keep cellphones stashed.
Forgot my Optimum card but I did not have any particular offer that I missed using, just got two specials (and did not look at the gloves---Tuesday!). Have the Tuesday SDM friends and family offer on my phone.
Well, tomorrow's inauguration in the US will be indoors. Will see if it is on network tv or on Youtube (highlights).
Only realized recently that the grocery list pad with the purple cover and purple lines has somewhat tinted pages. Must have saved costs by using less chlorine. The pages used to be white. Pages now seem to have some recycled newsprint also.

@Giseledta my guys can eat 3-4 eggs in a sitting ( poached, fried, scrambled ) so the 60 I bought won't take long to disappear. I often do 7 hard boiled
up just for them to grab 'n go. Earlier tonight I was swapping recipes with a sc member who shared her keto single serve desserts ( think Mug cake ) with
me. Each serving one takes 1 egg.

I did not buy eggs as we did not need them but we regularly buy the 30-count because they are cheaper. If I cannot find a sale Costco 30-count is the cheapest but if I am not going to Costco, No Frills has the second best price.
I do not want to say we do not eat eggs but it seems rarer these days so most of our eggs go into baking and cooking.
One of our quick dinners is a Dutch Baby pancake and that uses 4 eggs and we probably have that twice a month. I love how easy it is to whip up the batter and just pop it in the oven vs standing there and flipping pancakes.
I used to back in the day anytime I trained a new employee bring baked goods, I would like to get back into this habit, it is a nice welcome to the company.
Also I had someone say "I hurt there feeling" last week, they were joking but I jokingly said "I will bring baked goods," so pretty sure I need to make something this week for that branch. I had planned to do that yesterday but ran out of time and also need to pick up Milk for some reason I thought we had more milk than we do so I did not grab any. I do have some in the freezer (my emergency stash) but we made it to today so I will grab Milk today since I have other errands I need to run.
It got out at work that I bake and now I trade favours for baked goods. Earlier this year our Plant Manager did 2 Plant Tours for me so he got cookies.2022 is going to be my year, the year I find organization in my life and the year I focus on myself,

Good Morning Everyone,
I got a good chunk of my prep done yesterday but not everything, which hey that is life.
I think I was a little overstimulated yesterday as I felt like I spent most of the day going in circles and feeling a bit overwhelmed because there was stuff everywhere.
But I got about 80% of what I had planned done. A few things I pushed to today as I forgot to factor in needing to get Milk.
Today I need to focus and get all the things I did not get done on Friday done. As well I need to switch cars, my car is coming back to today. When I switch cars I will run my errands, I need Milk, Mom needs Halls and I feel there were a couple of other things as well but I did not put them in my phone so will they or won't they come back who knows.
Every Sunday I go through the fridge to see what needs to be used up, I found some Taco Meat that did not end up in the freezer so last night was Taco Bowls. Thinking tonight might be soup but we will see. I made homemade bread yesterday as well as a Roasted Cauliflower Soup.
Happy Monday Everyone.2022 is going to be my year, the year I find organization in my life and the year I focus on myself,

Good Morning!
Friday- Made dinner as planned.
Saturday- Weather looked and sounded crappy all day so sticked close to home. I went out in the morning and went to a few stores.
Youngest DS had the stomach bug (his co-workers kids had it so he figures he got it from him being in the same vehicle) so he didn't eat at all on Saturday but was able to eat a bit on Sunday. He is off work today to recover (is weak from not eating) Hopefully he is able to eat more today and feel better.
I felt off Saturday afternoon- was in bed all afternoon and evening-hardly ate.
Sunday- Felt a little off but figured fresh air would do me good. Went out for a while and still had an off tummy so didn't eat much. Even thought about picking up a free meal and still didn't want it so that's when you know you don't feel well.
Today- Not really craving food but will try eggs and toast later this morning.
RE: Egg recall- Thankful all my eggs from Walmart deal are ok. We eat lots of eggs in this house.
@coupongirl- The prices of deodorant are crazy!!! I try to keep a stock up of it for the men in the house. (which reminds me to pick up more at RCSS for $2 they have in a bin) For me I am almost finished the one I paid $2 for at Dollar Tree (secret aluminum free) that sells for $11.99 at my SDM. I was lucky 2 pick up 2 gift packages after Christmas for $7 something and it includes the same deodorant/bar of soap and large Olay body wash with pump!
RE: PC PTs- offers are terrible and prices at Loblaw's even worse!
Happy Monday!Last edited by Frugalbigmama; Mon, Jan 20th, 2025 at 09:47 AM.

Back from Costco to find the naughty grand dog had gotten a loaf of freshly baked raisin bread off the kitchen counter-she claims to know nothing. Luckily she didn't eat any as my daughter informs me raisins are poisonous for dogs. I also gave her a ham bone 3 weeks ago which caused her to vomit up pieces of bone. As my daughter says we have almost killed her twice in 3 weeks. I think she better come and pick her up!

I am not saying it wasn't cold out but it was not as cold as I was expecting it to be which was nice since I had to run some errands.
I went into the office this morning to work so I could wait for my car to come back and give them the one I was driving. Everyone looked at me funny when I walked in with all the stuff out of the loaner so I could move it back to my car.
Once my car was back I came back to work from home and try to catch up.
On the way home I stopped to pick up my package of more "leggings" to me they are not leggings as they are not tight and they are flared. Need to try them on as I had to order a size smaller as the ones I have are a bit big and they only had the smaller size left, they are on clearance.
Then I ran into Giant Tiger to grab Mom Halls, she likes the sugar free ones and No Frills does not carry the sugar free.
Then into No Frills for Milk, Mushrooms, Price Matched more Butter Chicken Sauce, grabbed some Udon noodles as they were on sale, and I feel like I grabbed a few other things as well, oh Rice Vinegar was also on sale.
I think I am back on track for where I need to be at work.
After work I whipped up a Pumpkin Loaf and added some cream cheese chips. I am not the biggest fan of pumpkin but trying to use up some of the pumpkin we have in our freezer. Although I have learned to do prefer pumpkin in baked goods, it is really pumpkin pie I do not like.
Kitchen is clean so now it is time to relax.2022 is going to be my year, the year I find organization in my life and the year I focus on myself,

Very cold morning, second day in row. Ms. Sunsine helps in getting me outside. Slept through am alarm but got up 30min later and got garbage to the curb for collection.
Enjoying having a Healthy Steamer meal cooked on stovetop with some added water for breakfast. Have phone charged for Shoppers F&F 20% off coupon day. Need to collect something when I do errands soon. Synthetic ski socks are keeping lower legs very warm.
Cookie recipe might be part of baking effort later in the day. Hope to find coupons in stores. Adding that to my list so I do not miss any opportunities. Raising my mug of hot goodness to everyone this morning!!!

It is so so cold.
I need to figure out if I am doing Costco Sat morning, or after work tomorrow. Prob sat am. And get some walking in. I'm definitely feeling the lack of walking.
I need to look deeper at the sales flyers, nothing is jumping out at me.
Hugs to all
