Happy Monday!! Looks like a nice day out! Can't wait to get out and enjoy the sunshine!
I am working today....but expect it to be a very quiet day as I am done all my work and don't expect any last minute requests. (many people are off)
Could have taken a vacation day but didn't have any real plans so would rather save it for another time.
Today is a day to get things done around the house since I am home and need to tend to things that didn't get done in my absence on the weekend.
Taking it easy today since I am tired from the weekend but will get the regular stuff done (clean kitchen) Plan dinner (thinking Chicken, grilled potatoes, veggie and salad) Unpack overnight bags. Write out shopping plan (our fridge is pretty empty... Stocked DS up with burgers/sausage etc for the weekend since he was home alone) Laundry- sort it. Go to bank and deposit cash. Drive by donation bin and finally donate box of clothing in my vehicle that I have been driving around for months. Top up gas tank (tomorrow- Ultramar has .10C L savings for Canada Day- activate offer in App.)
Tomorrow- if the weather co-operates- going kayaking! Will go in the early morning to beat the heat (and people) of the day- Pack food and morning coffee in thermos
Will be a good week- quiet day today to re-group. Tomorrow is the Stat- then only 3 days of the work week left!
Ok off to dig in the freezer for dinner. Still have a turkey that we need to deal with....will have to wait till September now... First cool week that will be the meal plan!!! Can't wait to have it out of the freezer!
Have a wonderful week!

Good morning all. Going to get my drivers license renewed today since they’re closed when it actually expires tomorrow. So more $$$$$$$$. I wish you could get a 10 year option just like a passport.

Good Morning Everyone,
Super slow morning here, I really did not want to get out of bed this morning.
I am off today and I think quite a few other people also booked today off but I don't know why I started to feel really weird that I am off today and everyone else will be working. I always feel guilty when I book time off. I am not a traveler, to be honest, travelling stresses me out so I feel weird booking time off to sit at home. But on the flip side I also know I need the break but yeah, some days me and my brain go in two different directions.
I am in a weird place today, I was feeling like I was starting to get my sh*t together but today at least in my brain I feel like I don't. But at the same time I realize nothing had changed other than like I said for some reason I feel really weird being off today and I don't know why.
I think I will do some prep today, we still need to deal with the 4 packages of Chicken I bought. Mom will do the chopping and all that fun stuff but I do need to make more shredded chicken (I do this in the instant pot) and Salsa Chicken (this is done in the slow cooker). But also there is some produce to be prepped. I need to wash and package our produce for the week.
I started on a meal plan, as of right now it is all chicken dishes. I am thinking for tonight I might make Feta Chicken over Rice with a Balsamic Salad.
Happy Monday Everyone.2022 is going to be my year, the year I find organization in my life and the year I focus on myself,

I dislike taking a vacation day to be at home too. Especially more now that I work from home 100%! I get lots of vacation days and use every single one so sometimes it is just to do nothing and it does usually feel good not having to go in my at home office

Sometimes I like to plan a day out and about in my town. Including lunch at the deli that I try and go to once a year- in the summer!

Well I told DH to apply for EI for the summer off school. He works as a lunch time supervisor and after school care. He was approved. Too bad he did not apply in years gone by but better late than never!

I'm celebrating the departure of my regular guest Arthur! ( Arthur-itis ) lol. The left knee is back baby!
Also at chiro today I got some welcomed sympathy from the staff and the Dr. on my lousy 3 day inflammation
party. I got a " suggestion " for relief that I jumped on right away! ( anyone who suffers know we'll try most anything )
I could not buy a large enough glass bottle of Castor oil from any of the drug stores, so amazon to the rescue.
The oil is soaked into cotton cloths, sprinkled with cayenne pepper and placed over the knee ( works on other areas that
have inflammation too! ).
Plastic wrap over the cloth to prevent the oil from staining any clothes, then a heating pad over that! They suggested to
keep the compress on from 30-45 minutes.
I am very hopeful to try! Plus I'll have this on hand the next time Arthur drops in for a visit!

Easy going day today. Dh and I are headed out for a ride before the heat hits (yesterday was 33
), grabbing my free Starbucks drink today and a plant based bakery sent me an offer for today to get myself a free treat. Mmmmmmm makes getting older a little better
.
Have a great day everyone

@walkonby you are not a cheapskate - you are frugal and keeping stuff out of the landfill. Be proud!
