Good Morning Everyone,
I got some of my work done yesterday but not all of it. I had a lot of trouble focusing as I was so disappointed I had to work on the weekend, other than an hour here or there this is the first time I really needed to spend hours working this year. Although I am hoping in a couple of weeks maybe I can take a long weekend.
Today is prep day, I kind of sort of have a plan but we will see where the day takes us.
I already have the produce soaking (not a lot this week just cucumbers and romaine, but lots left from last week). A batch of rice has been cooked and is cooling and now the strawberry crustless pie is in the oven.
Take a quick break to drink some tea as I realized I hadn't taken my allergy pill yet which is not good this time of year.
I also have laundry going.
Going to try my best to get all the things done today.
Happy Sunday Everyone.2022 is going to be my year, the year I find organization in my life and the year I focus on myself,
follow along as tackle day to day life and whatever else 2021 throws at me:

Slight disappointment while chopping the colourful veggies for the Taco 5 layer dip I made yesterday.
The amazing sale that I got on 2 huge English cucumbers were frozen like a rock! Both of them, from tip to tip,
nothing was salvageable. Not sure what the heck is going on in our fridge, we've turned it down before this but
certain items still freeze, especially if they are placed on the bottom shelf and pushed to the back.
If anyone else knows why this happens please share!

We had a very spendy May with 2 trips out and both vehicles needed some work. Add in the cost of life and yikes. So I told DH we need to be a lot more focussed in June. Summer is expensive as we have several weeks with friends and family out here and then a two week trip back to Ontario.
Of course as soon as I announced this the oil truck pulled up to fill our tank🤦♀️. Fortunately until October we only use oil for the hot water so the tank will get a very small fill in September and then the next big one on November.
Today we are using our national parks pass to go visit friends at Keji. The pass was a Christmas gift from one of the kids.Friends don't let real friends pay full price.

SA-Mum seems to be healing well thanks. My sis is a recently retired doc in Toronto so Mum texts her a pic of her hand every day and she is happy with the progress.

Good Morning and Happy Monday! We have sunshine!
Enjoying my coffee and seeing what the work day has for me. Looking like a quiet day. Which is good because I have a cold and can't stop sneezing and blowing my nose! (Me- the person that never gets sick!!! Guess it is my turn finally)
Last night for dinner I made Chicken Quesidias with a side Ceasar salad. Everyone seemed to like that idea!
Woke up to a clean kitchen which is nice.
Yesterday I went out and did the shopping. Total spent $130.00- This included gas ($30) 48 pk TP ($11.27) 8 boxes of Captain Crunch cereal ($20 on sale and had a coupon- putting 4 boxes away for DS's birthday bag in September- the other 4 I will put in the kitchen over the next few weeks so he eats the others) He asked for it so it is a treat! I also stocked up on the dish soap at NF $1.25 each.(bought 5) Will pick up more to refill our shelf in the basement and not have to worry about it for the next year. I also bought a chubb of kolbassa that I hid- It is for the next kayaking trip- I love snacky food while kayaking
We are stocked with eggs/bread (plus we have lots in the freezer to use up) Bought lots of strawberries and raspberries.
I did put back the 1 pepper and 2 single mushrooms I was going to buy - the price was crazy- instead used the leftover peppers in the fridge last night for dinner (I was planning on tossing them but they were fine) and will do with out mushrooms in my eggs this week- I bought egg whites reduced for $1.50. Expire June 06- figure I could use this and save our eggsWe will be able to use stuff from the freezer and fridge to make good healthy meals this week.
I was a nice mom and made DS a lunch to take with him today. He was really good taking a sandwich all the time but the last few jobs (for months) they have had were in town so he is able to pop home and make a quick lunch. But the last week they are working 2 towns over so no time to come home so he is not eating till he gets home from work. I love our stainless steel Bento style containers so I made him a nice turkey sandwich on Rye with a side of cucumbers and strawberries.
Milk- Geez the price just keeps going up. DS and I are allergic but seem to be the only 2 that use it (For homemade mac and cheese) and DS likes it for cereal (I do too- I only like almond/oat milk on my oatmeal) I always try to have it on hand - we use it more in the winter since I seem to make that mac and cheese more often then. I did notice that Walmart is way cheaper then No Frills on the bags of milk in our area! (I ended up buying a protein milk because it was on sale and I had a coupon)
Have a wonderful day!

Good Monday morning. Finally settled after our road trip. It’s a busy work week for me so I’ll be brief ( I’m now working 6 days straight
)
We did really well $$$ wise I think.
$116 for a car rental
884 km round trip
$2 in gas by using Airmiles to fill up. Dh went over the free amount.
Packed lunch for the way up plus breakfasts $0 as it was stuff I had already at home.
$175 hotel ( that was paid off a month prior to us arriving)* they had free breakfast but we brought our own oatmeal. Dh had more hot oatmeal, bagel and chunky hash browns, juice and coffee.
$38 in groceries for dinner as our one vegan restaurant was closed for good
We did spend $40 for a late lunch early dinner on the way home at another fave restaurant.
Hair appointment was big $ but totally worth it. $240 for cut and colour, 3.5 hrs and he gave me 3 travel products valued at $27 so I’m happy. Not to mention I only go 2 times a year and it had been almost 9 months since I’d had it done!
Now back to work to save up for August, September and Octobers vacations

Held my first (and probably last) community pie event. I invited all the neighbours up and down the street to come over for a slice of pie, cup of tea, and to just chat and put a name to faces in the community. Most folks are friendly and wave and greet one-another as they walk past, but I doubted that many knew anything more about their neighbours. So, I held the event. A pretty decent turn-out with 20+ appearing. Shared a few laughs and stories and, hopefully, made everyone just a bit more aware of those who live around our homes.
Sadly, the pricing of pies from Walmart has changed so I will probably no longer buy their pies. Previously, their pies got discounted to $3.15 / 1.1kg pie. So, it was about $0.50/slice; a price I was willing to pay and sponsor the $20 or so for the event. Now, they have changed to a minimum discount price of $3.73/pie. I indulged myself a bit, but $0.50/slice was the top limit of my recreational tolerance. Oh, well. If Walmart is so desperate to hang onto their product, they can keep them.My food may not befit a king, but I eat like a horse.

I am in QC.
Sunday earlier afternoon, after seing the 2$ KitKat coupons and the 2$ Drumstick coupons where found in FRENCH in QC in Super C and Metro groceries.
I went to see if they still had some....
Surprise Surprise.....
I went to Super C and 2 Metro .....
All the pads where EMPTY....
Unbelievable...
They where posted like maybe Friday late night on the french couponning group I am in....
People are so greedy and selfish.....
Not 1....3 differents groceries...!!!!!
I guess you have to be quick to chase the coupons.....
I am discouraged.
Maybe it belongs to a rant section.
But I want people to see this post. The goal is to live day by day not to much thinking hahaha !!!!
I love to save money!!! Frugal life hahaah !!!

Morning! I have lost my voice- DS's friends mom wanted to talk to me last night to ask some questions regarding a business deal they are looking into so the boys set us up to facetime (lol I would not know how to do that) That is when I realized my voice was gone! The coughing this morning has really made me feel even worse today! I was thinking I didn't feel like coffee but the coffee is actually making my throat feel better.
My list of things I wanted to get done today may get pushed till tomorrow. I'm not pushing myself if it isn't urgent.
DS son is working on one of the islands today so he was good and made himself a few sandwiches to take. Boating to the job is a Georgian Bay perk!
I am starving. Didn't really eat much yesterday. Egg on an English muffin in the morning and then a bowl of cheerios with fresh strawberries and raspberries for dinner. Will start off the day with my weekday usual- Egg on English muffin!
ok now to get through this work day!

@HermanH that was very generous and nice of you to try and get the community to know each other not by just a face passing by.
The street that I live on used to have a pot luck which used to be great and everyone would indulge in food and drinks there was games for the kids . But since Covid hit it did not happen .
