@Giseledta: Oh yes.
Thank you.
I saw one time that Eve is still capable to come down the bed by herself if she had no choice.
But ... I dont want her to brake her paws.
I really dont know if I caused her a fear or no confidence to do it by herself anymore. and to rely on my.......
But I rather bring her down than she brake theirs paws.
That could become very serious....
I know I could purchase escalator stairs but it is not cheap .I prefer to not waste my money in that.
I know Eve would not learn and use them....Last edited by cath007; Sat, Jul 5th, 2025 at 03:05 PM. Reason: adding more explanations

Good Morning Everyone,
Thank you for the recommendations. Right now I am torn between Whirlpool & Maytag. I like the idea of the removable agitator in the Whirlpool for big bulky items (my mattress topper), but I am not happy that to get a model with a fabric softener dispenser I have to go with the top of the line model that is way bigger than we need. They do recommend for smaller models to use a downy ball but the reviews are so mixed, I am worried if it doesn't work do I end up with another washing machine I hate. There is no way I am going to catch the rinse cycle to manually add fabric softener, my washer is in the basement.
Maytag is more expensive and I am not against that, I am looking for the cheapest option but then I feel like for the extra money do I just go with the top of line Whirlpool because I am only saving $50 with the Maytag and it is a smaller washer. But there is a Whirlpool there is a cheaper option which is the size I want but no fabric dispenser. Seriously, why was this removed???
I do not care about my washer and dryer matching but my current set leaves something to be desired. I am pretty sure we bought the cheapest "large capacity" option. It used to take 40 minutes to dry a load of laundry now it takes about an hour and 10 or longer, so I think since it is going to be a lot of work to get them delivered, I am best to replace both. But if I loved my dryer I wouldn't care if they matched. Actually I am not looking to go with the "matching" pair, I will admit I do feel like I can go with a lower end dryer, I do not need a steam function or to have it connect to my phone so the lower end option will work but again I just want large capacity
But on another note but still in line with laundry, did 4 loads of hand washing yesterday and it wasn't bad until we got the wringing everything out. That because painful we both ended up with blisters that popped half way through. We did find an easier way but still without a spin cycle the amount of water left was a lot, my hanging laundry was dripping and it took and hour and 40 minutes for a small load in the dryer.
My hands are still hurting today but we are pushing through and getting some prep done.
My week is kind of up in the air I was asked by a manager to do something but I called them Friday because I feel like there timeline is way too long for what we are doing. I asked if there are other things they need to do, nope so now we will play it by ear after the first day. But my full week might become a part week, we shall see. Only thing with not having a plan is I like to plan my prep based on how busy my week will be because I find if I am not as busy and I overprep we end up with food waste.
I do have two Triple Berry Ricotta loaves in the oven right now, one for work and one for home. A group I haven't baked for before heard about my baking so it is there turn for a treat.
Happy Sunday Everyone.Last edited by SassyAshley; Sun, Jul 6th, 2025 at 10:25 AM.

Sassy i have used the downey ball for years ,it works ,the odd time it doesnt open and realise the fabric softner.
Now i only use vinegar ,it is great for the towels .
Just popped around the corner to sobeys to get some luncheon meat and buns as my older half brothers granddaughter will be coming to visit for a brief visit with her hubby .They are bringing my walker for when i have my knee replacement .I am giving my sister-in-law 3 bags of clothing to go thru instead of donating -large family to go thru it.
My dear older brother on london, ont ended up in the hospital yesterday he is 78 now .Keep him in your thoughts .

@coupon girl yes, I will certainly keep healing thoughts for your brothers stay in hospital. Hope his time there is short and he gets released in better health.
@SassyAshley ....the laundry dilemma. Hmmmm, a downy fabric dispenser ball eh? Never heard of them, quickly Googled and read reviews. If they work that's
great but when they fail..........yoiks! Also you actually hand wash some clothes? To the point of developing blisters?
That's a hard nope for me, but an
admirable dedication to unmentionables ( or are these pure wool items? ) you and your Mom have. I've always thought there was a setting for delicates on washing machines?
Also I wondered instead of the whole liquid delivery system of fabric softener, how about using dryer sheets? I used to love those stick on bars from Bounce but they discontinued them. It does sound like you've narrowed down the search for a washing machine, maybe a dryer too so hooray to that.
Carry on.
HA HA HAA!!! Update...I JUST now realized the hand washing you did was because the washer is broken!
Sometimes I need to give my head a shake!Last edited by walkonby; Sun, Jul 6th, 2025 at 12:11 PM.

On the frugal front....we're finally getting our shared driveway redone! Worked out rather well as both our neighbour and we were going to be gone for the day Saturday. The asphalt crew arrived with the claw digger, we pulled our vehicles out and when we got back at night the driveway was all prepped and smoothed with the stone/sand layers and whatever else they lay down. The final work will be done at a later date. Oh and btw, not exactly frugal but a fair enough price ( we think ) and it really needed to be repaired.

Back to Monday! Seems like the weekend flew by!
At least it has cooled off outside! Have my office window open and it is a welcome breeze of fresh cool air!
Was out and about all day yesterday...no plan for dinner and was starving. Decided it was way to hot to even think about cooking so stopped at RCSS and grabbed a cooked chicken and a salad kit. Dinner done! The kitchen was a disaster. At 930pm I decided to clean it and then put the garbage/recycling out and the garbage cart to the road. So glad I did that last night....No one likes waking up to a messy kitchen.
The fridge needs a good clean out to see what leftovers we have to work with. Dinner will be a bit of this and that to use everything up-
Saturday I found at No Frills PC Meat Lasagna 2.27 KG on clearance for $9.94 (Expiry next year- My guess is upcoming package reduction!)
I bought one and went to the next store. Then decided that half this lasagna served with salad, veggies etc makes for a good cheap meal for 4 so decided to go back and redeem points for 2 more. In the fall I will appreciate summer me! Perfect mid week meal where I can cook it one night and we have it for 2 nights with sides! Homemade is better of course but this is cheaper then take out (easy) and cheaper then making it.
Have a million things that need to get done. I'm going to write out a list and then see what can get done this week.
DS has a bin of clean clothes he needs to go through- It was washed and folded and never dealt with...I'm guessing he hasn't missed much since it has been months. Going to encourage him to fill the bin for donation so I can drop it off this week. We need to get rid of stuff!
Have a wonderful day!

Afternoon went out with a girlfriend for lunch ,we were gonna go in her hubby's huge truck ,but i couldnt pull myself up with my knees being sore.
So took our car ,we went around the corner 10 minute drive to "Dough box" and had fresh pasta rose with pieces of chicken with a side of meatballs ,my treat as it was her birthday last month .
Then we went to starbucks and she treated me to a tea and we shared a coffee cake slice .
She really enjoyed this as her hubby is out of work ,she gave me a few more articles of clothing and one nice white 3/4 length sleeve top fits me .
Just ordered my expensive dry eye drops from well.ca at least i had a 10%code plus i get 2 % back raketan plus got sunscreen and all purpose cleaners .

Happy Tuesday! Gray and glum start to the day but the forecast is showing sunshine all day long so hopefully that happens.
Still working on my to do list. Didn't get as much done yesterday on it as I should have...Today is a new day.
I was on my own for dinner last night...So I ate the leftover broccoli slaw salad kit and tossed in an old bag of fries in the air fryer. Didn't love the fries so I am feeling very hungry this morning! Tis the season of golf lol Years ago I would join them but I just don't love it as much as they do so why waste the $ when I would rather go kayaking that cost me $0 (Kayak bought and paid for already)
Ok I better find my motivation...so many things I want to get done today...
Have a wonderful day!

As I suspect the mechanic said it was because my SUV sits for weeks and months at a time so my brakes had seized. Thankfully the brakes are new enough that not everything needs to be replaced but it was still 600.00. I have asked my son to drive it work at least 1x a week when we are gone so I can slow it’s decay.
Today is a long list of things to do but for the moment the heat has broken so I am actually going to do some gardening before tackling my errands.Friends don't let real friends pay full price.
