I saw a report in the news this morning saying increasing for the grocery for 2026 is for a familly of 4 =1000$
So for my father and I ,it will be 500$ more.

I dont know between all the car repairs need it how we will going to make it works....

Few weeks ago at my IGA(Sobey's) I found this coupon too ( it was a sheet with the coupon to cut off)

My friend ended up texting me while I was in the shower asking if I wanted to go to lunch and she would pick me up. Yes please!
We went to Walmart after and I bought a bag of apples for $2.47 (50%off) and a stainless steal cup $4.97 (50% off) Love the size and it will be my new at home coffee cup.

Found a good box on the Flashfood app- so I ordered it and went to RCSS to pick it up. They didn't have it so she said she would have to refund me. I asked about the service charge amount and she said she had no idea about it but gave it to me.... I'm guess all the others she refunded today didn't get that back.
So now I need a few peppers (thinking fahitas for dinner tomorrow night!) There was tomatoes and potatoes and a bunch of lemons but I have all those so in a way they did me a favour... I will look at the app in the morning and see what I find.

But I did find some fancy mushroom rolled up pizza things on for .94 (2 pk)(reg $6) Have a package in the oven now (1 for me and DS wanted one to try) If he likes it then I will go buy a bunch tomorrow. I wanted pizza hut and this was much cheaper! (and I won't over eat it and feel sick after like I do with pizza)

FB- Grabbed a few things- the strawberries are were nice so grabbed a package. And a 2L container of Kawartha Dairy Moose Tracks ice cream ($6.99) cheaper then the Kawartha store! And my sister said they don't sell it at Costco anymore.

Now to find a movie to watch

Good Morning Everyone,
UGH, woke up to a lot of snow and snow as far as the eye can see in the long range forecast. Guess I will be shovelling today, I should have shovelled yesterday but the thought of the wind and the cold with how I was feeling, just no. But today I have no choice as there is already a lot of snow out there and it is still coming down.

Mom's tummy was off yesterday so not sure if she will want appetizers tonight but I will prep them because worse comes to worse, they go in the freezer for us to have for another night but I don't want to be rushing at dinner time if she does choose appetizers.

I was hoping to get out this morning, not that we "needed" anything but just to get out. I was going to grab more avocados and rye bread to have, like I said, not a need but to get out. Also sad I didn't make it to Costco for a few sales but the weather did not cooperate.

Between being sick and the weather I really did not accomplish much this shutdown which in a way makes me sad but at the same time I realize, my body needed this downtime. Mostly I was hoping that maybe a morning or two before Mom got up I would be able to get out and do a few things. I am homebody and love being at home but the last few months I have been feeling kind of isolated. I feel bad going out because Mom can't and know that drives her insane so I try to run errands on days I am in the office but then I feel like I am rushing to get what we need and get home so I can start the night routine. Even when I am out when I consider doing things I feel guilty because I know Mom can't do it, like if I think oh I will take myself out to lunch as a treat, Mom can't get out and go to lunch, I don't know the feelings have been real and I was just hoping I would have had some more time for me during this week but such is life.

I was also hoping since winter has been here and came early (compared to the past few years) January might give us a bit of a break but from the articles I was reading this morning and looking at the long range forecast, doesn't look like it. I think the weather is also making me feel a little trapped, I am the first to admit, I don't like winter driving but this year there seems to be constant warnings and seems like anytime I have a "free" day and could get out the weather is bad.

Looks like I must be in a funk so what better way to make me feel better than to go and shovel.

Good day!

Cleaned out my coupon/shopping bag just now. Good bye all December 31st 2025 expiring coupons.
Gave myself $80 in loonies for shopping for the next 2 weeks.....Using up stuff we have and only buying fresh healthy stuff...we can do it! My shopping list for the flyers starting tomorrow does not have much on it which is good for me.
DS was given a ham for Christmas (and a large GC that he uses for beer lol) He was given a choice of a ham or a turkey but since we have a turkey in freezer he chose the ham. So we will plan to use both at some point this upcoming month- and use the leftovers accordingly (BLT's and Toasted westerns!)
Found 3 FPC's that expire today so I will redeem when I am out.
Going to wash up the dishes and then have a quick shower and head out....

It has been heavy snow all morning! 20 mins away from us an entire Township has been closed for days. People stuck at a warming station for over 2 nights.
So I shouldn't complain...

Afternoon my nefew and his wife and little girl age 2 dropped in ,they are from Montreal .Came to visit his parents the last few days ,then stopped here for an hour and a half,then on mtheir way to visit my daughter and Sebastian in toronto overnight.

I had a few gifts for the little one and then they gave me a denningers basket,so nice .

Just popped out and got a doughboy pizza for hubby and i .Late lunch .I stopped in shoppers for milk and a few items bought some more clearance gifts for easter for the grandkids and a cleanser and a perfume set for me .

We get the girls from 6.00 p.m til about 8.00 p.m while son and his wife go out for supper with friends.

I’m having good luck with $5 produce boxes through Flash Food at our local No Frills.

Unfortunately my local grocery stores (Sobeys, No Frills, CO-OP) have virtually stopped putting out tear pad coupons. This week I put expiring coupons on store shelves next to the products. I hope people used the coupons in time.

I am missing so many envelopes that should have arrived through Canada Post…it makes me wonder why? I like Canada Post, but in December we only received mail 1 or 2 times per week. I received 8 envelopes yesterday along with fliers, but nothing in our mailbox most days.

@Angela273 ......I too have been getting mail 1 or 2x a week (usually Wednesday and Thursday). I am thinking that someone wants to be done early so they can have a 4 day weekend. If the plan is to only deliver twice a week, then let me know!
