I can’t believe January is over. I spent about 60% of my typical grocery budget and tried a number of new recipes. I need a better system of saving them because one that we liked I have no idea where I found it🤦♀️. I am sure I am not the only one over this winter. We have another stunningly cold day but a gorgeous clear sky so that makes it less painful.

Finally February 1st!! Bring on Spring

    Yesterday was a fun day.

Today- went grocery shopping this morning.
Prepped dinner. Made meat balls for dinner and 2 meals worth are in the freezer on a baking sheet and then once frozen I will move into a freezer bag. Made homemade ceasar dressing. An hour before dinner I will pop the meatballs in the oven, make a pot of rice. Steam some green beans and get the lettuce ready for salad.
I bought a tray of BLSL chicken breasts and boneless thighs. Thinking of trying a mushroom sauce (using finely chopped mushrooms- which I need to use up) for the chicken breasts. I saw a you tube video and it looked really really good! That will be tomorrow nights attempt!
Stocked up DS on turkey breast sliced meat, cheese slices and fresh buns so he can make work lunches this week(he asked for it)

Really need to do a load of my laundry! I have 0 yoga pants clean. (that I like- I have a few that are just to long to wear this time of year outside) so that is another plan for tomorrow.

Needed a phone charger cord (left mine at my friends house and didn't feel like driving over there) so but bought a cheap cord at Dollarama this morning. Found a 6 pk of Saucony Women's RunDry No show socks. They are the perfect thickness. Think I should buy a few more packages. (I usually buy at Costco- think it's Puma brand but these are comparable and much cheaper now with the price increase)

    Have a great Sunday!

Afternoon this morning went to once upon a child to take in clothing for daughter-in-law and daughter .My daughter got $32.20 and daughter-in-law got 24.00.
Everylittle bit helps right.I noticed a lot of people coming in to buy used kids clothing at 11.00.

Then stopped at shoppers got a loaf of bread and cheesesticks reduced 1.47.

Rest of the day cleaned and had a nap .

    Good Afternoon Everyone,
No prep was done today, I do not know what it is, I am tired but body tired. My whole body feels tired.

I did manage to clean out the fridge and take out the garbage as this did not get done last week. We do not have a lot of food waste but there was leftover gravy, some leftover guacamole and something else I cannot remember now. Mom mentioned her garbage also needed to go out so I took that with me as well.

I did consider going to the grocery store today but when I looked at 10:30 this felt like -24, I then considered going after I took out the garbage but it still felt really cold so I checked my phone, felt like -18. If I only needed a few things I would have gone but I need a bunch of heavy which will mean multiple trips to the car. Honestly, the way I feel today, did not take much to talk me out of it.

Instead I came in, took a nice long hot shower and reheated from leftover Mary Brown's from Thursday night when I grabbed it on the way home after my late meeting.

Need to get Mom's car in this week, although my schedule is starting to fill up, so that has me concerned. I am also second guessing myself originally I was going to have it boosted tomorrow and with the warmer temps it shouldn't die again but now I am thinking maybe I should just get up extra early and call them that morning. I don't know, today is one of those days were I feel like I cannot make a decision. Mom says leave it and deal with it next week but I want to get it taken care of.

I logged into work and have been clearing up a few things hoping tomorrow won't be too insane so I can either step out at lunch or finish on time so I can run out and grab some groceries tomorrow.

    Happy Sunday Everyone.

    Good Morning Everyone,
It is Monday, here we go again LOL.

Up early this morning although took me a bit to get out of bed. Why is your bed always so comfy and warm in the morning LOL.

Laundry is going, somehow we have more than normal so instead of my norml 2 loads, I have broken it into 3 loads. Load 2 is in now.

Trying to talk myself into going to the store on my lunch. I know I should go but also feel like there is so much to get done around the house that I could tackle something around the house on my lunch. We will see how it goes.

Dinner is a mystery, I should have written a meal plan but since I didn't show, I didn't write a meal plan.

Still need to deal with this car as well. I will have Mom call when she gets up to see when they can look at it and I will plan from there.

I do have one meeting I need to book for this week but they are off Thursday, Friday so thinking the car on Thursday might be my best play.

Time to get back at it, the requests seem to be flying in this this morning.

    Happy Monday Everyone.

Happy Monday! I had a hard time getting up this morning too! At least the sun is shining!

Finally sipping coffee. Breakfast soon (eggs for sure since we have so many!) Then give the kitchen a good clean up.

The kitchen cupboard clean out/organization is still on going. I did clean off most of the portable table (all the pasta/sauces/canned tomatoes etc) are back in their new spot. Now the baking cupboard needs to have the last few things moved out and then I can make some decisions (not a big baker here...) Will be honest and toss what I can and should have it condensed to a small bin. Mission is to finish the food cupboards by the end of today.

I am going to get out later today for a walk. Would like to go to next town to SDM and see what clearance items they have and grab a few packages of the February deal Royale Paper towel (I buy at SDM so I get the points!) So I may walk there since there are a few stores in the area and can walk inside if it is to icy.

    Enjoy the day!

Angela love the january savings you have .

I went to a local thrift store (no tax) found Ashlyn a pair of snow pants 5.00 and a top for me long sleeve 8.00 .

Then on to Giant tiger this is the first time i managed to hit seniors day !st monday of the month .

I got joggers 9.00 these prices are all after seniors discount
Big bag of chipits giant tiger label 10.77
    Brocolli p.m food basics 1.34
    Strawberries p.m freshco 1.88
reduced grapes 1.74 only a few i had to toss all the rest were crunchy
    (3) glass cereal bowls 1.80 each for daughter (a customer told me they were from the bay on the bottom it states 9.99 each
    (2) raisin bread 4.29 p.m to food basics
    (1) large trophy plastic canister of cashews 13.51

It is nice they let you price match plus the 10% discount ,i will have to make an effort to go there each month .

Plus a lot more i spent 83.79 saved $8.48 from seniors discount .

She wouldnt price match my blueberries as they were from a different country not the same as theirs , anyway i didnt buy them .

Now to clean my house a bit more ,my brother and his girlfriend is coming over at 6.00 p.m tonight.

Oh man, THAT sucks @cath007 . Vandalism that you end up paying out of pocket for? Does vehicle insurance cover windshield repair?
Probably the deductible would be too steep to bother maybe?

DH and I got our quickie shopping in earlier today after his physio appt. Just NF and Metro, then we filled up the gas tank.
Red Prince apples were a great price at Metro ( .99 /lb. ) so DH bought $13.00 worth. At NF 10 lbs. of yellow flesh spuds
were only $1.35 . We didn't need all that much, a few berries, milk, cream and bags of shredded Nacho Cheese.
We were glad to get back home in decent time. Nice and sunny out made the outing kind of delightful.
