My DH and I were talking to a private clinic today about having his hip surgery done privately in the summer-definitely not frugal but hard to put a price on pain and suffering. Will see how the surgical consult goes. That will be in May vs 20-24 months from now in the public system!!!

Good Evening Everyone,
WOW it was a busy day, probably did not help that I woke up late. I woke up at 4 am and could not get back to sleep, I was very uncomfortable, my hands were bugging me (I have been sleeping with socks on my hand as I have patches on my hands and they made a point to tell me not to get the cream on my face and I do not trust me in my sleep), and my back was not happy. The plan was to get up but I guess after my alarm went off I fell back to sleep.
Once I got my day started, it did not slow down but at the same time I knocked out a bunch of work things that have been hanging over my head. Nice to cross somethings off.
Nothing to done around the house. I realized I forgot to wash the couch blankets yesterday so I was going to do them today but I was cold so it didn't happen.
I am not sure why but this afternoon I started to not feel my best, I don't feel sick I just feel off.
This has lead to plan d for Dinner. Plan A Beef and Broccoli, got nixed, so did Plan B Chicken Burgers (no thank you to the mayo), plan C Chicken Cutlets with Roasted Potatoes and Veggies also got nixed. Now I am making Chicken in Mushroom Gravy over Mashed Potatoes with a side of mixed veggies.
Sometimes you just gotta go with the flow.
Happy Tuesday Everyone.2022 is going to be my year, the year I find organization in my life and the year I focus on myself,
follow along as tackle day to day life and whatever else 2021 throws at me:

Lizzie ,yes you cant put a price on pain ,how true .
I know of someone who went to Mississauga for a total body scan ,she paid of course .Then had surgery instead of waiting til june.
It is so hard to believe when i had an xray in March on my knee ,then the other day the Surgeon telling me i could have had May28/26 for knee surgery .Of course i had to turn that time frame down as hubby has an MRI that day .
So i will have bad days and pretty good days til i go in August for surgery .Today was a good day went out in morning with hubby ,then out in the afternoon by myself .Lizzie tell your hubby take care, all the best.

Thanks CG-too bad you couldn't have had the surgery on May 28 for sure. Lets see what dates they come up with for a consult and surgery-if necessary I will reschedule things I have planned as this is the most important item on our docket for sure!!

You most definitely can’t put a price on pain @lizzie bargain . My dad went to a private clinic to get his MRI and got in within the week otherwise it was most likely going to be a year wait list. He has a CT scan as a follow up to his treatment and they sent a rec in a year in advance! Hope your Dh gets the relief he needs

Happy Hump day! Blue sky and sunshine so planning to get out this afternoon for a walk for sure!
Celery is on sale at GT starting today so glad I didn't buy it the other day for $3.99 at NF. I just made it work with what I had. I think my fav meal of the day is my afternoon hummus and veggies (especially the celery!)
Like usual I have a million things I want to get done around the house but will have to pick a few things and just get at it..
Enjoy the day!

Done after a looooong work day. Tomorrow’s plans change and then changed again so I’m meeting a new client but before that I’m taking my mom out shopping in the morning. Cleaning will have to wait until Saturday.
I'm going to pick up Dh in a few minutes and enjoy the sunshine while I go to the bank for a deposit.

Salvaged 6x sandwiches, 12x milk shakes, 3x iced coffee drinks, 10x pepperoni snacks, 5x danish, 8x muffins, and 2x 1-litre bottles of Clamato from my Shell station. I don't know what to do with the Clamato, as I don't drink Bloody Caesars. I'm thinking about just using it to cook into chili or a pot of stew. Anyone got any ideas? Ever tried it?
RCSS had 3x 2-pound cauliflower in pretty good shape for $1.76 each.Last edited by HermanH; Thu, Apr 9th, 2026 at 02:45 AM.

I just ordered in bulk from a local food company. It included 2 lasagna, chicken cannelloni, 2 jars Marinara sauce, 2 trays meatballs and 1 barka. It was 120 including delivery so I hope we like it. Supposed to last a week but since we are only 2 it will last longer.

We are very pleased. Dh has a phone consult May 15 and hip replacement on July 16. Private surgery may not be frugal but you can't take it with you!!
