@lizzie bargain about the Marry Me Chicken recipe. One could think it refers to a couple pondering a wedding, but
apparently the name refers to the way the flavour of the ingredients come together and marry with each other.
I'm pretty sure you'll like the recipe.

Thank-you
It was nice walking back into a cool house.....I honestly don't know how we went without it the past 2 years...well I do know I was a little miserable and nothing got done in the house when it was hot hot! ( I guess we enjoyed cheaper Hydro bills)
Did the Marsh! It was a great walk- Nice shade in spots but tons of sun too. Stopped at Walmart on the way home- Tried to buy a few cans of coconut milk but they were charging HST on them. Took it to customer service and was told nothing they can do- That really ticks me off!! Geez- I am not paying tax on a grocery item that shouldn't have tax.
DS cut the grass this afternoon- not ideal in the heat but he didn't do it last weekend and is leaving again for the week for work so at least it is done now.
(He is our grass cutter and snow blower)
Dinner tonight is chicken breast, sweet potato/white potato (will make fries for the guys) ceasar salad. If we had frozen green beans I would make them but we only have canned and I don't want to ruin dinner lolLast edited by Frugalbigmama; Sun, Jun 28th, 2026 at 02:25 PM.

@Frugalbigmama , there was a debate on one of the local Facebook groups about Farmer Markets.
I feel like Farmer's Markets in Canada are very different from Farmer's Markets in the US. In the US there does look like there are deals to be had.
In the Facebook post they were saying that some local vendors did not return this year and now there are more out of town vendors and the town needs to support the Farmer's Market. But as some pointed out, last week at the Farmer's Market Strawberries were $10/lb. but you can buy Canadian Strawberries at Sobeys for $4.99.
I get supporting local but not many people have extra money in their budgets right now.2022 is going to be my year, the year I find organization in my life and the year I focus on myself,

Good Evening,
We are definitely living in the something is better than nothing season right now.
I had some blueberries to use up so I made a batch of Blueberry muffins.
I washed all of the produce and Mom packaged up most of it. We had Cucumbers, Cherries & Strawberries.
I made some Peanut Butter Greek Yogurt, there is something about mixing the Kirkland Greek Yogurt with the Natural Peanut Butter it almost becomes like a mouse. I will top it with Strawberries and Chocolate chips.
I noticed our peppers were starting to go (older ones, not the ones I bought Saturday), I chopped them up with some onions and sauteed them so I can add them meals this week.
Dinner was Homemade Burgers pulled from the freezer with Oven Fries Poutine which meant we needed cheddar so I grated both Cheddar and Mozzarella to be used this week.
Also working on using up the oddities in the freezer so I pulled a chunk of Baked Ham from the freezer Mom can use for Sandwiches this week. I already have some pasta to eat up (Mom doesn't eat them as they give her heartburn), I will add some peppers to the pasta for some extra veggies.
I also did some rearranging on our dining room shelves to give us some more flood space. We are still working around the old AC Unit but I have made it so at least most of what we use regularly is now accessible. Originally when I thought I was taking Thursday/Friday off I was going to spend one of those days trying to tidying up the dining room and make it more workable but that will have to wait.
Now it is time to relax and finish watching Hidden Figures, I have been watching it in sections most of the day.2022 is going to be my year, the year I find organization in my life and the year I focus on myself,

Oh SassyAshley you just changed up my dinner plan! I was going to have the leftover chicken breast in the fridge! Now I am thinking I would rather a burger bowl with a side of sweet potato chunks (in the air fryer- I love them this way!)

Happy Monday! Weird week with July 1st on Wednesday! I took Thursday and Friday off so I could enjoy the stat and an extra long weekend.
I expect today and tomorrow will be very quiet workwise- I have some reports to file this morning and then I should be able to tidy up some stuff and just check my email incase someone needs something urgent.
Going to give my office a good clean!
I would like to go for a walk this morning as well before the heat sets in but I think it may have already started.
Looking forward to my first meal of the day (oats/apple/Greek yogurt/frozen raspberries) I am still sick of eggs......
For afternoon snack I have celery and hummus/cherries/sliced cucumbers to use up.
Our fridge will be nice and empty so looking forward to seeing what the new sale flyers bring!
Have a wonderful day!

Life has been busy. Our oldest son will be heading to high school in September. We are preparing for different summer camps for our kids. Our twins won art scholarships that covered the cost of their day camps.
I had good luck at Sobeys. I bought discount stickered air chilled boneless skinless chicken breasts for $4.50/lb. I earned 1,000pts wub $100. U wanted you t know that the discount sticker amount counts towards the total spend offer. I bought 4 family packs of chicken breasts for $65.09 and still earned the 1,000pts bonus. I redeemed $60 in points and submitted the receipt for $0.05 back from Caddle. I cubed and froze the meat for 12 future meals.Help me out with Swagbucks and we can both earn gift cards and PayPal money

Got another 3x pounds of red peppers for $2 at my ethnic green grocer.
Came across a broken bag of Russet potatoes, spilt onto the parking lot. The birds had pecked at about 1/2, but the rest were fine. So, I gathered them up and too 5lbs home.Last edited by HermanH; Mon, Jun 29th, 2026 at 08:22 PM.

Morning! Happy last day of June! Wow! Slow down summer!
Could hear the thunder rumbling in the middle of the night. I don't think it amounted to much in my area. Looks like a hot hot day today.
I need to have a quick shower and get out for a walk- Need to beat the heat and the potential thunder storm!
Have a wonderful day and Happy Canada Day!
