Wow an extra $40 and $80. So definitely worth waiting for. Hopefully by that time I will have enough to do a 95k point redemption as I am only at about 68k (just checked)

Technically you can get $1000 in free stuff per card. Last year it was 2 redemptions per day, and you had Saturday and Sunday to do them (which was nice that the Sunday specials were also part of it, which usually they aren't). Of course, that's a lot of shopping at SDM to get that many points! lol

It was a bonus 8,000 points for each $150 in GC that you spend. It was a bit nerve wracking because your points showed up a week or so later.

How does one figure out how much those 8000 points would be on a Mega redemption (I always see people convert their points to monetary value when bragging)

Was this promo before mega redemption last year?

It's a ratio. Let's assume you're going to redeem the maximum 95,000 points for $250 on mega bonus redemption. So, 8,000 points would be:

x = 8,000
$250 = 95,000

Solve for x. (Ha ha, couldn't resist!)
x = (8,000/95,000)*$250
= $21.05263.... or $21.05

It's the same when you're comparing price per kilo or pound to different sizes at the grocery store.

The mega redemption is usually in December, so the November GC promotion was just to get everyone to boost their points (and SDM profit margins) to redeem in December.

If so then one could technically say I only spent $1.56 ($79.98 after taxes spent today)

For a second there I almost wanted to cry with the whole x = this then multiply and divide and find out this number then when you find hte secret add this and minus that and blah blah blah. Like math class all over again.

Only if you "technically" spend $250 on redemption day because no matter how you look at it, SDM still has $79.98 of your money.

Can't wait for that GC promos, last year I did 30 transactions and got 240,000 bonus points, I hope they will have it on again this year!!!

I wish I had 4.5K to just spend like that! I'd prefer my money in my savings account though instead of on plastic. I'd probably end up losing a few of those GC's.

Last year it said transactions paid for with prepaid CC and SDM GC would not get the points, but people did. So in theory you only have to spend half as much.

Is there a way to view their flyers online? I can't seem to do that even if I put in the correct postal code and waht not =/ my parents recycled the flyers or we haven't been getting them.
