After reading, and posting in some threads over the last few days, I am going to issue a challenge to all my fellow couponers here on SC. We all live in different parts of Canada, so together we can help out many, many families and individuals in our great country.
The challenge is this:
For us couponers who could afford to spend $10 .... within the month of July, spend that $10, along with some coupons and try and get as much food (not healh and beauty products) as possible, and take the items you have purchased and drop it off at your local foodbank. As Fallenpixels posted in another thread, foodbanks are in desperate need of proteins. Canned fish, canned meats and such. If you can't purchase those items, items such as soups, cereals and jams and peanutbutter are also great itmes.
Take a picture and post it here. Lets see what we can do together as an SC community to help those less fortunate than us. Good luck everyone, I look forward to seeing the mountain of food we can amass with just $10 each.

Such a great idea, but I don't really coupon that much...I don't collect them because I don't use the foods that give them out, but I promise that I will spend $10 this month on food and donate it to our local foodbank.
So....my pile will probably not be all that big...

Great Idea ! Especially with the little ones out of school, our community has a group called Loaves and Fishes that proivde school lunches for those that need it, I often wonder what those families do in the summer when the program doesn't run. I am in for this challenge! May not provide a picture( kind of challenged in that department) but will post what I donate if I can't figure out the picture thing!

Thanks everyone for getting on board. I hope more people from SC join us and see how much food $10 can actually provide for many families. As soon as I get back home from camping, I'm going to go through the fliers and head out to pick up my donation. We all seem so busy in the summer, we tend to forget about those that are in need of our help.
Have a wonderful day everyone

Love it! Like Lynn, I don't do much couponing anymore after realizing that I was spending more time than the money I was saving, but I do like the idea of this challenge. Even without using very many coupons, I'll bet that I can get together a little care package to donate to the food bank

Ok holly, just like Lynn, and glowworm , and because of the diet I am on, most coupons I raok, well except when I splurge and get DS #1 some stuff for his place.
What if I went through my stockpile? I could easily gather $10.00 or more and take that to the food bank. Thanks for the thread to bring awareness ( yes again)
Seems the donations are constantly decreasing. I will gather and post a pic.

A lady came through my checkout yesterday, with 50 bottles of miracle whip! I got chatting to her... and she said shes donating them all to the food bank! they get stuff to make sandwiches..but nothing to put on the bread.... Very nice of her!
I will have to see what I can find!

I've already been looking through the threads to see how far I can stretch that $10 with coupons. I am challenging myself to see how much food I can get. I wish I had coupons for more protein products, but I know, whatever I get will be greatly appreciated.

Sorry but I can't post a pic. Technically challenged! I used a few coupons, some FPC's and spent $11.06. I have a busy month so I wanted to have a box ready to drop off at the local foodbank tomorrow. If I had more time I am sure I could have found some great deals and used more coupons but I wanted to be sure I did the challenge. Can't wait to see all your donations. Thanks again for the challenge OP.
3x Barilla Pasta @ $0.97 – $0.75 coupon = $0.66 (no frills)
2x Primo Pasta Sauce @ $1 = $2
3x Can Tuna @ $0.97 = $2.91
1x Peanut Butter = $2.49
1x Mott's Garden Cocktail FPC
2x Almond Breeze @ $2.00 - $0.75 coupon = $2.50 (Walmart)
2x Kashi Crackers @ $2.25 - $2.00 coupons = $0.50 (SDM clearance)
2x Pure Protein Bars FPC's
4x Good N Natural Bars FPC's
2x Post Great Grains Cereal FPC's
2x Natrel Baboo @ $2.00 - $2 Manager Sticker coupons = Free (SDM)
2x Jar of baby food Free at IKEA with purchase of 2 Adult meals
8x Bush's Beans (donation from my mom's stockpile)
Total = $11.06If you are interested in Houseseats here is my referal link:

that was great ssbean!
ok I am just as challenged with the pic thing, only know what the kids and DH has showed me.
Here is my donation, all taken from my stockpile because many of the items were free from SDM redeem, and with the no salt/sugar/fat restrictions I am following for eating now, I decided I best part with some of these items or they may expire!
