Saw breifly on the news last night peeps are upset they cannot see the flame. That may have been an error on their part to not put it in a public place.
Should have been like BC 2 locations

I kind of agree, Patty - they have to pay to go see the flame; that's just silly!
In BC, it was fenced in, but able to be seen!

When they lit it in the stadium I was thinking to myself, are they going to raise it up high or are they going to move it? Guess I was wrong lol

Absolutely amazing - I was watching!
Memorable because their bronze in three-metre synchronized diving is the first of of the Games, but it's also makes one for the history books because Heymans simultaneously became the first diver to medal in four consecutive Games and first Canadian to do so in four Summer Olympics. Awesome!
Very cool that Emilie's mom was a fencer at the 1976 Montreal Olympics, as a member of the Belgium team.
Also nice that a medal is won on the second day; in Beijing, it wasn't until day eight.
btw, I think their swimsuits are gorgeous!Last edited by Natalka; Sun, Jul 29th, 2012 at 12:46 PM.

Totally enjoyed watching the women's weightlifting yesterday; they are amazing!
Our fave was the woman in the centre of the pic from Taipei, who ended up winning gold!
Kazakhstan's Zulfiya Chinshanlo, Taipei's Shu-Ching Hsu, and Moldova's Cristina Iovu

Organizers, who long promised packed games venues, were then criticized after blocks of prime seats were unused across the opening weekend — and insisted that sponsors were not to blame.
Seats were left empty mostly by accredited sports and national Olympic officials, athletes, some media, plus “a handful of sponsors.” Military personnel resting from onsite security duties and neighbourhood students and teachers were offered tickets while organizers sought to get more fans into the arenas.
Sports governing bodies have been the main source for returning privileged-access tickets.
“We have talked to the international federations,” Brock-Doyle said. “Everybody is giving up what they can. We were able to put back into the pot for sale about 3,000 tickets (Sunday) night and they’ve all been sold.”

SECOND MEDAL!!!
Meaghan Benfeito (left) and Roseline Filion

Canadian divers Meaghan Benfeito and Roseline Filion added Canada's second medal of the London 2012 Olympic Games on Tuesday, finishing third in the women's synchronized 10-metre platform competition.
Benfeito, of Montreal, Que., and Filion, of Laval, Que., put together a superb list of five dives to earn 337.62 points on the way to their bronze medal.
Chen Ruolin and Wang Hao finished in first place on Tuesday to continue China's sweep of diving's gold medals, while Mexicans Paola Espinosa and Alejandra Orozco captured silver.
