Tara We have been with you through this long journey and now others can benefit from your recovery as well. Good Luck with your move and try to keep us posted on what is happening in your life. Not because we're nosey, but because we care. (Hugs)

Yes you all have been with me throughout this journey, and it's hard to believe it will be 2 years this October! I don't mind nosey, Infact I had a good 20 minute conversation with the lady at the laura secord store in the mall last Saturday lol I was there to buy some good 70% + cocoa bars as it's a GREAT cancer fighter when you eat a square paired with a cup of green tea steeped for 10-15 minutes, anyways, she was telling me what her Husband is going through and than I shared my experience and we just kept chatting. I don't mind talking about it because it's life, and people need to realize whether it's cancer or another disease, that they aren't alone.

As for what's going on in my life.... I'm going to be at Parliament next month. Twice. I'm definitely keeping busy and keeping active which is a huge thing for anyone dealing with any disease. It's quite important I think.

Thank you so much for sharing your story!! You are very inspiring!! The Brain Tumor Foundation is such an excellent organization!! We have been invited on a few outings a year with them! My daughter has a condition that creates tumors in the body. She is 8 years old and has 5 brain tumors. Luckily they are small! We just are monitored with MRIs every 6 months. We found out she had Neurofibromatosis when she was about a year old! Since then she has had 27 MRIs with her next in Dec!

    *hugs*

I had to read up about Neurofibromatosis as I was not familiar with it, and wow. That must be be hard for you as a parent to watch your daughter deal with this and sadly, the experience will probably mean she'll grow up a little quicker. Kids just shouldn't have to deal with this, it's just not fair.

I'm very happy to have read that the cancerous rate of her condition is very low, I will be hoping they remain that way! Best of luck to her for her next MRI as well, mine is in Dec too!

So glad to hear that your Mom had the fight to get through brain surgery in her 80's, that's awesome!

Thanks! It has been difficult. She has a couple other medical problems because of the NF and we are trying to get her help but kids just don't understand and like to pick on her. We have been lucky that she has the less serious NF and hasn't started developing any of the gilomas outside of the skin. She just has a boat load of "birth marks" that's what we call them with her. We have to shelter her a bit.. she doesn't know there are 5 "bumps" just a couple little ones and they take pictures of it to make sure they stay the same. Luckily they haven't grown much in the last 2 years. If the larger ones grow then they want to do Chemo to try and shrink them. I just hope we don't have to go there!

Good luck and keep in touch! All the best with your next MRI. Ours is Dec 13th. 3 days after her 9th bday!

Morning Tara, I'm just back from holidays and found this thread. I'm happy your occupied as always, trying to make the best of a bad situation. It seems yet again, waiting, waiting to hear from others, waiting to make a difference, waiting. But you my dear, will be the one to do this. My heart and thoughts are always with you as you know. You are strong and can make a difference in so many peoples lives!
