I hate when fast food restaurants and food courts are full of empty tables and someone sits at a table next to mine.

...When your drivers license is suspended for a stupid mistake you made!
I'd feel odd starting a thread on this, but I just need to vent about it...
I was stunned to open the notice informing me my drivers license was suspended last week. After trying to grasp what I was reading, I looked for my ticket to see the confirmation # that I paid it online... couldn't find it. Called the mto, was on hold for 18 minutes & I had to leave for work in 20 minutes. Still couldn't find my ticket. My credit card statement didn't show I paid it. Oh. My. God. How irresponsible did I feel. Stupid, stupid. How did I let this happen? I had paid a ticket after this one, & I guess I must have assumed I paid this one. So I go to the court house & pay the ($60) ticket, & was told I can't also pay the ($150) fine there too, I had to go to a service ontario office. I'm not only angry at myself at this point, but it's all really hitting me, how my license is suspended from being forgetful!!! I've never let anything slip like this before. I pay my bills. So, I lost it, couldn't hold back the tears. Ooooh, yes, I was pmsing. I get real bad pms, just causes all bad things to be amplified, you know.
My Mr. thought I overreacted about it all, said it's (license suspension) not a big deal, an easy fix, you just pay the fine. He figured it was my TOM before I knew it, I actually didn't clue in to that at the time . Sigh.
To top it all off, the real kicker is my ticket (speeding 10 km over) at court was reduced to $45 from $60, but the officer didn't show up, which technically means it should be dropped, & there's no fine. Sigh. So, what should have been $0, cost me $250.
So that's the worst, stupidest thing that's happened to me of my own causing in years & years, heck ever.^Easy free stuff yo^!

I can top that...I had a fine that I was paying off in installments (I had gotten into an accident with some huge truck that decided instead of stopping at the yellow light, he was going to gun it and make it through. Unfortunately I assumed he was going to stop and pulled out of the parking lot. Stupid on my part and i was charged with failure to yield so it was a large fine)
I had missed a payment one month by 2 days. I had been away. But the day you miss a payment, they put you on the suspension list. I had no idea they had suspended me. I didn't receive anything in the mail.
Bad thing is, I got pulled over. Cop said I didn't do anything wrong, he was just running plates and when he ran mine, it said that the owner of the car's license was suspended. I was shocked and said I didn't have any outstanding fines, then it hit me. that I had been late with the one payment. I asked the cop when the suspension had been posted, he went back to his car and looked, and he said...Today. I told him I didn't get any paper work etc etc...and he said he was really sorry...but he had to give me the ticket. I said how much is it (So naive of me...lol) and he said...well you have to go to court & maximum fine is $5000!!!!
I almost fell over! He again, apologized and said for me to go to court, explain the situation. He also said he would not be in court that day so it would go better for me. I went to court, explained what happened and had documentation showing I had only paid the fine 2 days late. And since the cop wasn't in court, they dropped everything.
But, I still had to pay the $150 to get my license re-instated...that one I couldn't get out of.
so my rant is when I do stupid things!!!!
