Well thanks to you, Bob, I had a pretty wild day at Safeway's today--printed off 10 of the 3$ coupons and grabbed a bunch of the AM booklets that had the 30AM and did buy the 10 packages of coffee that I had planned to, but like you said, the Espresso (AKA Dark--my favorite) was on for 50% off, so I got 8 of them, and did the 5 separate transactions at self check with my customer service guy taking all the coupons and doing the overrides, etc. So as I was heading off to the car, pulled the receipts, and the AM's didn't all show up--so back to customer service, and who do I see but the same customer service guy that was watching the self checkout...anyhow I know now that they have to fill an adjustment slip out for each transaction, so about 20 minutes later, that was done. And of course, they forgot to give me the 5 scratch cards, so I got those (will scratch those tomorrow--too much excitement for one day). So I'll roll up the AM's some time down the road...did save 30$ off the top, of course, so I think you'd have to call it the OB triple dip (3$ coupon and 30 AM and 50 AM offer). I thank you, and Safeway's thanks you, I'm sure!!

There is also a 4 page Insert but no prices are given except on the front page which lists 2 Extreme Bonus items. As in the past I expect the “Extreme Bonus” includes a heavily increased price to offset the AirMiles offered so be careful:
Safeway Softly/Bright Green Dbl. 12 Roll B2G50 6.99/4.36
Safeway Brightly Paper Towels (6) 5.99/3.36
Also they’re starting another scratch and sniff promo so make sure to ask for your cards if the teller forgets to give you any. I recall I got 4 free products last time.

Careful on those comments, Bob...a week ago you said the same thing about the insert, and then you did the math on the coffee gimmick, and look how that turned out In that vein, will be off to a different Safeway's today looking for one more batch of coffee and "almost free" AM's--just like any Vegas casino, you have to hit 'em while the promos are in your favour!

Vegas,
Pretty sure I got the math right this time.
Funny thing is, I like LV and have spent a total of 2 weeks there but never gambled once. I do, however make good use of the carvers at the prime rib stations. The buffet at the Rio is mind staggering. Any recommendations for food down Fremont Street Way?

Good thing I'm tall then...did my last score of 10 cans (5x2, since I know there's a max of 5 offers per day)...oddly enough, I hit the other two stores in town, and neither of them had the espresso on for 50% off, just the one store I hit yesterday--so alas, I spent 60$ for 10 cans of coffee and 400 AM (they all registered this time, so that's good). Goes to show you, I'd figured this week would be quiet on the AM front, and then bang...I read this thread, and hit for over 1,000 AM, which I can use to re-load my account for the next e-auction, or whatever.

Well now, THAT is a subject I definitely have some expertise on--planning my next pilgrimage for December (a quiet time of the year until NYE)...hotel prices go through the floor stayed at the Rio last year--3 nights for 40$. Got a bunch more nights comp'ed at other properties where the gambling should be better...but I still lost $$ but every property I stayed at had Senior's Days when I stayed--bonus points and offers--am partial to the Boyd properties, where the Video Poker is definitely better. To answer your direct question...also love the Main Street Station (block from Fremont) they have a great mega buffet (not as large as Rio's) which you will enjoy. And it looks like I'll have to pay for airfare and car rental, but food and lodging expenses, due to the coupons involved (I minor in AM's and SDM optimum, I MAJOR in Vegas comps!!) should be minimal.
Two great sources are
http://queenofcomps.com
Jean Scott wrote a few books on frugal gambling, and how to get deals.
Also
http://www.americancasinoguide.com
Maintain by Steve Bourie (who also sells the book of the same name, with oodles of coupons), there are lots of podcasts (including a bunch of videos) that will show the average person how to win more (lose less) at the Casinos...he also is selling his discount book for 50% off (I already bought mine last year, so I don't need another), which is good for the rest of this year...like he says...one coupon could pay for the cost of book...and it is true!!
How about a SC meet and greet in December in Las Vegas??

I remember one deal we got last time was after buying tickets for Mama Mia at one of the Half-Price show outlets for another $5 (???) we got $15 each off for the Rio Buffet.
Best prime rib I found was Harrah's. Everyone raved about Mandalay Bay but I thought Harrah's and the Rio was better.
.or this "comp" thing.
-most heard phrase on the Strip (from the Time Share Sales People!).

On a roll guyz,
Had to go back for some business items but also bought a loaf of bread @ 50% off.
Left and realized the cashier who was night time supervisor had missed the 50% off label.
Went back, "Ooops! my mistake. I'll refund the whole amount!"
So I didn't win anything on the scratch & sniff but FREE BREAD! LOL!
