This is the number that really gets to me. While most people were understandably running away, these brave individuals were doing their duty and walked back towards the line of danger.

I remember that morning: I was sitting in my Mom's living-room in our house, watching something, having coffee, when our DD phoned and told us to turn to CNN, which I did...we stayed on the phone for a few minutes, and I said to her..."the world will never be the same again...". I can't even remember the time before 9/11...when no one was concerned about or was even aware of a group called the "Taliban".... it seems like it was another world in another time.....

One glaring ommission.

Number of rescue workers/volunteers who died in the aftermath from respiratory illness, cancers etc. Thankfully they are now going to be covered by insurance companies but sad those who died and their families are bankrupt because of it.
