Motown Producer Frank Wilson

Frank Wilson, who sang the sought-after Northern Soul single Do I Love You (Indeed I Do) and produced a string of Motown hits, has died aged 71.
The Houston native wrote and produced for artists such as Marvin Gaye, The Supremes and The Temptations but only released one single as a vocalist.
Just two or three copies survived - one of which sold at auction for more than £25,000 in 2009.
Wilson had fought a long battle with prostate cancer but died on Thursday.

Raylene Rankin, a member of the internationally acclaimed Celtic-country band The Rankin Family, died Sept. 30 after a long fight with cancer at the age of 52. Rankin was first diagnosed in 2001. Cancer subsequently returned in 2009 and 2011.

All the Diamonds is the title of Rankin's latest solo CD that was released this year. It was her first solo CD in seven years. Rankin started her music career as a member of The Rankin Family in 1989. The band was made up of Raylene and her four other siblings, all of whom grew up in the small Cape Breton village of Mabou.

Battle of Britain hero William Walker dies aged 99

The oldest surviving pilot from the Battle of Britain, who was shot down in his Spitfire and wounded in 1940, has died aged 99.
Flt Lt William Walker, born in Hampstead, north London, suffered a stroke last Thursday.
He died in hospital on Sunday, the Battle of Britain Memorial Trust said.

Being born not long after the war I grew up around a lot of vets and was always fascinated over Spitfires and the Battle of Britain.

I heard there are only 3 Spitfires from the Battle of Britain still flying. Then this recent news:

I was brought up with WWI and WWII vets as relatives . I heard a lot of war stories growing up and I've been intereasted in militery history ever since.

Mr Penguin and I used to live near Fairford which holds the Royal International Air Tattoo. we got used to watching all the air craft flying by. The day after Penguinette 1 was born, there was a fly-by of Hercules aircraft which circled the hospital we were in.
