Perusing this thread tonight...it has been a while. So sorry to hear about that Lola.

I have an acquaintance who I visited in Palliative Care with lung cancer this week. She is barely 40. Life is full of unpleasant surprises, thanks for yet again another reminder to count our blessings.

I can't even say how many times I thought about DH driving home on those remote roads and stayed up worrying.

And now thinking of her going through this is just so sad. It's bad enough when you DH is gone for a few weeks, let alone forever. I feel awful for her. Having to explain to his 2 boys. My DS is a month older than hers and I dont know how I'd do it.

What a tragedy - and like you say, how to even begin to deal with it....

So about 1 1/2 hours to go in my second to last shift at work. Then fri morning when I'm done here at 7am straight to walmart 9-5 for training, damn think I'm gonna be a little tired fri lol.

LOLA, those near and dear to us are our most precious things for sure. So fragile and often we take them for granted, until they're gone. It happens in an instant, often when we least expect it. I'm so sorry to read that and I know she will need help healing in the future and is lucky to know someone like you. Please give her a hug HUG from everyone here on SC when you see her.

So has anyone finished their christmas shopping besides me? I was able to complete all mine before I left Canada, I wrapped it and hid it at a friends house. This Christmas, my famiy will be expecting gift cards again, BUT... they will get pretty packages with stuff they really wanted but would never buy for themselves, you know, it's the mom thing. I can't wait, I'm more excited that they will be I bet. I always love a great surprise.

I have not even started this year.
I am still trying to save up as much as I can on each pay check (which is not going very far) Next year should be a lot easier. Since this year I have only started working in September.
I would like to get my boys a gift worth $300 each, a new outfit, a Hallmark ordiment, a stocking, a Tim's gift card and also stuff they can give each other.
I need to get gifts for 6 other members of my family ($50 each). And I need to do stockings for dh, the pets and me.
Also a gift for dh, teachers gifts and colleagues gifts.

I need about $1500 !!!

I will be using my Shoppers points on Dec 1- that is for sure! OMG ...now I am in a total panic! That is more then one pay check for me! And I don't get paid for the 2 weeks the school is closed over Christmas! I have never had to but things on credit cards before...but it may happen this year
