I really like this book for recipes, but I have to admit I'm lazy when it comes to mixing my own. For the most part, if I can use it straight, I do. If you have in your house baking soda, washing soda, vinegar, borax, club soda, you're set.
Borax: toilet cleaner and deodorizer. Great for sink and bathtub.
Washing Soda: recipe in book above, but you mix it with water to clean walls. If you have a floor that needs (wax) stripping, just let the solution works it's magic for about 5 to 10 minutes and the wax will be removed without the fumes of ammonia. Washing soda also makes a great drain cleaner.
Baking soda: mixed with salt and a little bit of some dish soap is good for scrubing bathroom tile.
I've made this recipe for laundry soap, but it left a film on the drum, so went back to using store-bought laundry detergent.

I use Baking soda to clean my teeth it works great I don't smoke but drink Tea and Coffee
I put toothpaste on the toothbrush wet it then dip into the baking soda this really works.
I also bought cute sponges and I put my bar soap on it after I use the soap it saves the soap from getting gooey and slimy and you get way more use out of the bar soap.

I make my own laundry soap (liquid) as well, but my recipe is 3 gallons of hot water in a bucket, 1 bar grated sunlight soap, 1 cup a&h washing soda & 1/2 cup borax. I have a post on here about the process somewhere, but it's too much work to search for on mobile lol
I also make my own fabric softener as well

It's insanely cheap overall - granted when you first buy the products, it costs you more than using coupons for brand name pre-made, but that's offset by the overall savings.
I'll find my cost breakdown for you in a few mins when on my laptop

Ok here's the breakdown using regular prices:
2kg Borax @ HH is $4.47 (Yields 8 cups - recipe uses only 1/2 cup)
3kg Washing Soda - $7.29 @ HH (Yields 13 cups - recipe uses only 1 cup)
2 bars Sunlight bar soap - $1.99 (1 bar per batch)
The recipe I use makes approx 3.5 gallons of soap (56 cups), and you only use 1/2 cup per load (I have an HE washer).
So basically if I use those prices above:
One 3.5 gallon batch (13.5 L) = $1.83 / 112 loads (56 cups using only 1/2 that per load) = $0.016 per load of laundry
The box of Borax is enough to make 16 batches
The washing soda is enough to make 13 batches
The bar soap is 2 batches - so this is where you would make more purchases for future batches of course.

I use lemon juice in some water in a container & put that in the microwave, then run it for a few minutes to boil the water well, and leave it in there for about 5 mins. Then I can just open the microwave & wipe it clean with paper towels, no scrubbing or chemicals required
