    Just a quick mini brag about a SCOP!!!! I don't like to speak up with these and get very few of them. I wish more stores would just give the SCOP without even asking!! I ALWAYS ALWAYS have a hard time at Walmart. One trying to convice them there was a tag and two getting anyone from the Dept. to answer their phones!!!! I even had one cashier ask me if I wanted to leave the product because it was taking soooooo long for them to answer Ummmm yeah no we can just stand here longer no problem to me. So my first item was for the Bassili's Lasagna rang up at 8.97 I said no there was a sign for 6.27 so lucky enough the person who was on break was coming back to till she went to look yes there was a sign but it was for Great Value but the cashier(also a manger) gave it to me for 6.27.(plus I had a handy dandy 1.00 off for 2 of them) Then came Iams Wet Food 12 pack was suppose to be 14.87 it rang up 17.37. So she said she is calling the Pet Dept. Well me being me getting tired of Rollbacks not being right I took a picture!!!! I said if you want I have a picture with all the details I said I am getting tired of things not ringing up and waiting. Showed her and she goes oh ok perfect will give it to you for 14.87. Hmmm can I do it.....finally after what seem like forever I spittted it out don't I get 10.00 off? With Scop? She reponds oh ok I guess 4.87. She should of it my opinion did it right away she is a manger. So for 4.87 minus .50 coupon I got 12 Iams Dog Wet Food!!!

    4.87 - .50 = 4.37
    Which = .36 cents a can which usually is 1.68 a can!!!!
    Not to bad!!!

    I really feel for people who know it is their right, ( the scop) and feel sheepish asking. Good for you!! You saved big because you managed to spit that out. Feels good huh?

    My walmart insists that they don't have to give out the SCOP automatically, that I have to actually ask for it. Which I don't mind very much, since I always ask!

    Before SCs I had no idea what a SCOP was! I am still a little worried to ask for it if I know that I am right. Slowly I am getting better! Awesome job! You have inspired me to not leave the product behind next time!

    I first heard about SCOP in an article in the Toronto Star. The consumer affairs reporter wrote that customers shouldn't be embarrassed or afraid to ask for SCOP. If we don't, then there isn't an incentive for the store to honour advertised prices. Less honest stores may actually advertise low prices in order to bring customers into their stores, but not reflect the lower prices in their computers. However, I'm not saying the retailers discussed here are doing that.

    most stores won't offer SCOP; they don't want to give you the item free/$10 off. Wal-Mart stores are especially reluctant to give SCOP, and often the price tag mysteriously disappears. As well, many cashiers, especially young ones, have never heard of SCOP, and are bewildered hen the customer asks for it. ( On the other hand, some customers ask for SCOP when it isn't warranted, if they don't fully understand SCOP's parameters.)

    KK7!

    Good job! I had heard DH mention it and always wondered is it just his boldness or is there such a thing. Since I have read on here several months ago about it-I am just waiting for something to come up the wrong price and know that I am right to call SCOP. I'll be doing a jig on the way to the car.

    That's the point of all of us trying to save money for our homes, our families. That is a 10.00 coupon, a ten dollar bill going back into your pocket for you and your family.

    You are an informed consumer that is nothing to be ashamed of, quite the opposite, stand proud and know that you are informed, you are saving money and the people before you and behind you and the cashier or in fact the manager have quite a bit to learn from U.

    Coupons are currancy and so is a SCOP, legally there for to claim, they (any store) has no problem taking it from you/us.

    You did great, we are proud of you and thanks for sharing. Reminds us all that we need to be more confident in what we belive and what we are doing. This isn't just a hobby to us and our households, this is our life. Great job.
