So my kitchen has gone from disastrous to epic disaster! Hubby claims that he is going to go to bed early & get up early to clean it........ Ya I can totally see that happening.......... I'm going to pissed if I have to clean it tomorrow morning. Side note he still owes me a box of my fav chocolate for my birthday.......

Congrats to the future grandma's.

My mom had me at 19, dad was 24. I am sure it is a shock, my mom and dad were engaged when she got pregnant and pushed up there wedding by a year to be married before they had me and I know it was shock to her family. My mom has always been very open about getting pregnant with me young and has shared stories of how her family reacted. Haven't heard much on how Dad's family felt but dad was older and they don't tend to discuss this stuff.

Bathrooms! Does yours have a theme?? My main one is ocean themed. Sea blue towels,a vase of beach glass.seashells and a thrifted ocean scene painting in the wall...

I'm coming out of the grumpy corner. Only took 3 days

I went grocery shopping today. Did a fantastic shop! Found a whole whack of Marc Angelo 2 pack pork chops & 2 pack chicken breasts with 40% off yellow stickers because the best before date was Feb 26th. Bought them ALL. Yup... I sure did clear that bin. 14 packs of chicken and 9 of the pork chops. Also picked up some of the pork loin they had on sale.

Also went to Michaels. Dear gawd.... I could spend days in that place. I did some wonderful shopping for my buddy. I LOVE the clearance items you can find just walking around. I also bought a few things for my future buddies.

Ok, going to backtrack and update all my answers.. but for now..

For jewelry, I prefer a bracelet over necklace as I usually wear the necklace by BF gave me for our anniversary. However, I have very small wrists, so think.. child size..

Cellphone is a purple Blackberry Curve, which I hate! Loved my old Nokia flip phone, I don't use a cellphone much, usually just for texting, and the buttons are so small on the Curve it takes me twice as long to send a message...

My kitchen is a sagey/grey green.. white cabinets.. countertop TBA. I've renovated the cabinets when I moved in, (they were like laundry cupboards) with the intent of doint the counter too, but havent' done that yet. Was planning on black granite tile (DIY again, much cheaper than the solid!) but missed the sale.. Now I'm thinking I'll only be at this house another 5yrs or so, so contemplating a more affordable option...

Books... I haven't read a book in ages other than textbooks, but I used to LOVE to read. I think once I came upon SC, it's monopolized most of my free time! I do love the crime mysteries, I think there are a couple new one's by Elizabeth George I havent' read, or I really like the Kathy Reich series too.. again, not sure if any new ones, last one I read was likely 3-4yrs ago!

Ok.. now time for my question.. Buddy, we've discussed style of pantaloons, and whether you prefer a craft or wearable upgrade.. but what type of FABRIC do you prefer in your pantaloons? 100% cotton, Cotton blend, Lace, etc. etc.... I prefer the cotton spandex with a little stretch for everyday, and for fancy, I like the stretch lace... Least favorite is the nylon type blends... yuck!

my bathroom does not have a theme....I have a claw foot tub that is painted a magenta like color as are some of the walls partway up....no real theme except matching colors ...the bathroom will be getting reno job soon

pantaloon material type----the cotton t-shirt material ones. LOVE THEM!!!!!

bathroom theme----hhhmmmmmm........we are in the process of ripping out the walls in there as the bathroom sink was not draining. but i do know that we will have hickory cabinets and black counter tops in there. so not sure yet what the theme or color scheme will be yet

Lol I can't believe you asked the question about bathrooms tonight...... I just went crazy on mine today. It was a burgundy color, and it was the painted over type wallpaper. And scrolling type theme on everything, I hated it!!!! So I started ripping the wallpaper today and hoping to talk my hubby into letting me get new counter top and tub surround too
Here are the pictures


You can see the pattern on the paper and color under the lights and all the scroll work around the tile and edge of the counter, this is also all around the tub. Yuck just to much fru fru, for my liking!

I am planning on painting the walls a light sage green, and hoping for a dark colored counter top, then I will accent with chocolates and creams for towels

So here we are Monday morning & of surprise, surprise my kitchen is still an complete epic disaster, much much worse than before I went to bed. Hubby managed to clean a whole 3 glasses & a pot this morning. I am sooooo pissed right now..... That is all!

OK, ready to discuss the grandma matter a wee bit today....

Facts:
- I haven't met my son's partner they have only been together 3 months and live in a different town
- she is 18 (still a baby in my eyes)
- she still lives at home and my son lives with his biological father (that is a whole different tale)


I don't mean to be harsh but I had to implement tough love with my DS about 3 years ago and sent him to his fathers to live. He was constantly getting high (smoking pot), stealing from other family members, ect. It finally came to a point where his siblings were suffering and any help we tried to give him was not successful. We love him dearly but he just continued to make poor choices. DS usually only contacts me when he needs financial help.

I know that I will love this baby and my greatest fear will be that they will not stay together. I also know that this is going to involve a lot of help from me finacially which is going to be really tough. I need them to be independant and raise a family and understand that the baby is most important. How that could happen at this point in time I am not sure. They will likely be moving to the city so that I can be closer.

This whole thing is so complicated so I need to think a little longer about it. I will be meeting the future mother of my grandbaby on Saturday and will have a better feel for how things are then. I asked my son what her parents felt about the new additon. Apparently they are ok with it .If it was my daughter I would not feel the same.

Ok, rant over. I will not discuss the matter again until I know more. Thanks so much for listening
