Thank you everyone for your input. I think posts are important not just to rant (partially guilty of that) but also raise awareness that the next time you did see the shelf full and you could clear it, just give it a second thought for the people behind you.
This incident still sits badly with me because I do not feel that this was a need rather than an overage and just a feeling. If it were like baby food like one SCer mentioned. Often the cashiers I do not believe care and that is why they do not choose to put a limit in this case itwas a younger boy cashier DH said.
We can speculate all we want but as a fellow couponer just like my previous thread about photocopying you define who you are if you choose by using methods that seem unfair and untrustworthy to others - your call and posting a deal or savings that you know you went about it in a "loop-hole" way, who are you kidding-really.
I do not mean to be a little harsh, I want couponing to progress not to degress and with all of us following the rules we can save more.
Thanks for reading and commenting, visiting not rating, just thinking about it.

At one of my Walmart's here in Halifax we had this huge zantac problem shelves were cleared. I was there one night with my 3 kids picking up things so I grab one because I have heartburn maybe once a week. There were at least 20 boxes on the shelf. If my son cooks then its more
He likes his food spicy. I do my thing and go back cause my son wants to make spicy fajitas so I need back up LOL and they are gone. I was shocked and saw the woman check out. My Walmart is uber strict and places limits and wording of the coupons cause everyone should enjoy the sale or coupons and cashier says to her maximum 3 and points to a sign about the right to place limits. Manager comes over, she agrees with cashier and woman leaves everything there. I go next and she just tells me she is a repeat offender meaning a shelf clearer and she was warned. I seriously hope when I start working at Target (I worked at Shopper's now) plus going to Dalhousie that they will be clear on there coupon policy and limits are in place.

Is it possible that this person was also buying for other people? I sometimes buy large quantities of stuff; one recent example is the infant and children's Tylenol for free at Walmart....I bought 6 packages because I bought 2 for myself, 2 for my sister, and 2 for a friend of ours.
I think we are a bit too quick to judge without knowing the entire facts of the case. Let us try to give people the benefit of doubt.

I have no problem with the quantity others buy, provided they leave enough for others. I would like to add to Sunshyne1's etiquette. if you are going to buy a large quantity and know in advance, call the store. I do this with formula at SDM all the time, especially when it is on sale...I do this because if I don't the shelf clearers ensure there is none left for me.

I should add that it is preordered so there is enough for me on top of the stores regular order.

I'd just like to say, If you are consuming that much over the counter meds in such a short period, you need to see your doctor!
Long trm health issues shouldn't be self-medicated. That's why there are warnings on the boxes. Your liver and kidneys have to last you a life time and acetaminophen and ibuprofen are not their friends.

I agree that 30+ in one trip is excessive. Even if they are buying for multiple people or use a lot of the item, 30 in one trip (unless pre-ordered) is excessive.
In terms of WM, I think people buy excessive amounts simply for overage. My WM refuses to do overage now and I'm glad (I'm sure I'm in the vast minority).
I was able to buy 2 of the Children's Advil for $3 ( that's all that was there in 3 trips). I used 2 of the $5 coupons . No overage but honestly I don't care. I was just happy to get items we use for free. Normally they are $6-$7 a piece.
Last year I stocked up and got 20 of the Advil Sinus (10 pack) for free. Took 5 trips (4 bought each trip). I just realized I'm down to 2. But I'm okay with that since they lasted almost an entire year!
I guess my point is that I wish more stores would impose REASONABLE limits since sadly it seems people can't self regulate.

gosh that is ridiculous, i know i can't even find zantac and it's so unfair that people are buying tons of these as well. i tried looking for the 3.00 advil, couldn't find them either
pretty sure i only had 1 coupon. I mean advil has expiry dates and it's usually only 1 year or so,maybe 2,bet they didn't even realize that one so hopefully they paid the taxes for something that will just go to waste! People have been doing this left and right especially at wal mart, drives me nuts.
thank god i did get a childrens advil for 3.00 right when dd had a cold to

As poster says above you never know who there buying for. Also I don't really care who hears it but if I can get a good deal and there is 6-10 on the shelf only I will clear it if I can use it and want it. I am not going to sit there and think to myself hmm I wonder if I should leave a couple for someone else. I like to stock up when I can I have never used overage find it to confussing for my little fluff n stuff brain. I ALWAYS pick up stuff for my mom...I don't own a dishwasher but yet pick up Cascade. Or less we are physicaly going to follow this person home then really no sense in judging. As much as yes it is frustrating when you can't find a sale for your coupon it isn't the end of the world. It is the way you coupon...saving your family money and how you respect other people around us that counts. We focus on what other people do and it just drains you anyway. I am dirt poor latley yet I would rather be patient and find the product eventually or pay a couple cents more then aggervate myself.

I believe that everyone should be able to make up their own mind as to what they buy. But it is up to the store to put a limit in place so that it is fair for everyone. My Walmart has a limit of 6 same coupons and a limit of 6 of each item for pricematching. I'm ok with that.
I usually get the Advil Nighttime for a family member, but didn't get any this time. I also didn't get any of the Children's Tylenol or Advil, although I probably should have got at least 1 for us. I heard that our WM was totally cleared out of the Tylenol, so I didn't even bother going to try.
I don't know if it's "ruining" couponing or not. It is a bit silly though. The sale will probably come back around again.

RebeccafromHalifax!
Thank you for replying and first of all congratulations on your new employment. New Company to the country and new job. This is going to be so much fun. I'm hoping from what I read Target will be pretty good with coupons, you let us know. Please.
Also "repeat offender" tha is the correct terminoligy. I LIKE IT. That is why the limits like you mentionned !! You summarized it so completely. So their discression is backed-up by a past behavior is some recognizeable "repeat offenders" !!! That is food for thought so they are recognizing who and what they are doing. Good job WM, hopefully that does not happen to some of us just doing our coupon savings trip.
Thank you so much for sharing and let us know how your new chapter at TARGET and let us know about savings, coupons, rules and tips. Goo Luck have have fun too.

I saw a lady at Sobeys buying 14x packages of sliced ham with coupons! Who the heck eats that much processed meat?
