One of my FB friends discovered her grandmother died when she saw a status from her cousin complaining about having to go to the funeral THE DAY BEFORE.

My favorites were the chicks who posted every second of their labor(with accompanying pics). Maybe it's different if you have epidural(I've never had one) and aren't in pain and have time to kill, but I can't believe that while you're in labor updating Facebook is that much of a priority or that you think people care how many centimeters dialated you are.
People who post what their newborn does every second-they eat, sleep and poop, not that interesting.
I had one friend who had a drug free child birth and continued to post almost everyday for 3 years how tough she was for having a drug free birth. News flash-you aren't the first and won't be the last.
People who post every damn thing about their relationship, I don't need to know about your fights or sex life, some things need to be kept private.
I haven't had Facebook for over a year because I was sick of all these posts and don't miss it at all.

I dont get upset on when people post the picture of their homemade dinner or what they feel.....Because thats what facebook is for.I just get little offended when people even check mark the name of every restaurant they visit. That sounds a little showoff.

Just post sarcastic comments so everyone who agrees can get a good laugh before you get deleted.
Saves you having to delete them or feel any guilt for doing so, and it spreads laughter and joy.Love like crazy everyday and smile.

Just a thought
Maybe it would serve you better to post this rant on your facebook status..then all those who offend you with their statuses, can just unfriend you? because Facebook is a "Social Network"...or just click the button to not show their updates in your newsfeed.
Posting a rant here isn't going to do anything for your facebook situation

I hate the pics ppl share that say if I get 200 likes I can get a job, find my mom, justin beiber will stop singing, those are soo annoying because theyre all bogus, or the pics/statuses where if you make a wish and send to all your friends it will come true! GAH!
I do hate how alot of ppl do post personal issues on facebook, where it is definatly not the place for the whole world too see it.
But I am guilty of posting what I am doing/having for dinner, of course only when we do amazing recipes and I want to share though.join my superpoints network and get gifts card for amazon , or paypal, or rewards.

When I go to "MY" page on facebook, I post what "I" want on "MY" page. I'm aware that "friends" can see what I post but I don't post for them, I post for "ME".....on "MY" page....on "MY" facebook.

I have a friend on FB that posts non-stop about her baby. Every week she is posting his age and weight. I should have hid her statuses after the last child. This second child is only 2 months old and I couldn't take it anymore!!!!! I finally hid her statuses.
overall I don't mind people changing their statuses but I don't like my news feed over run with status changes 3-4 times a day by the same people.
now you got me started.....should I go on FB and say that I'm all worked up LOL

as others have already noted, FB is first and foremost a social website.
of course everyone has the ability to choose what they see from others, and what others will see from them.
if one were to truly want to make FB a very personal and private experience, they could just alter who sees their own posts. it can be done.
forcing ppl to be social? well that's just criminal!
