Went to visit friends in the States and got these deals:
1. Publix grocery store - Quaker (BOGO)- 1 day sale
2 x Quaker oat bran cereal* + free yogurt when you buy 2 Quaker = $3.29
Free Greek yogurt ($1.49 value)
2. Macy’s**
Clark’s shoes, regular $65, sale $32.50, Macy’s coupon (25%) = $24.35
*Oat bran never goes on sale here, so it was nice to get some.
**Macy’s flyer one day coupon was 20% off but the cashier had a 25% off “Friends and Family” coupon at her til and offered it to me. That doesn’t happen here either.
Peeked at Target (USA) and, gotta say, I still prefer the US stores to the new Canadian stores.

Forgot to mention that Publix is like Loblaws or Metro. Right now, Publix is in a big fight with Walmart -- both are trying to steal each other's customers. Which is great for sales and deals.

I lived in Weston Florida before,Publix was expensive store then, but the quality of
produce, seafood, dairy almost everything was top rated than any other store.
I liked both the brags.Last edited by morningrose; Wed, May 1st, 2013 at 03:49 PM. Reason: forgot to write

Publix is my fave for groceries whenever I am in the south.
Nice deal on the shoes, your feel will be so happy.Friends don't let real friends pay full price.

Great Deals! I am going to the states in 4 weeks...I am even excited to go to their Walmart...they have better suppliers for their merchandise, so I always find the quality of most goods to be better in the states.

Congrats on the great deals! Don't forget to ask for your "International Shopper's Discount" at Macy's. It is not applicable on all sales/items, but often will save you an extra 11%. All you need to do is show your passport. Shwa you may know this already but perhaps it wasn't applicable to your deal, so I am just posting this so others can benefit.
I am not sure of the exact rules, it is/was an unadvertised discount. I have received the discount on all my items including sales. My aunt did not get the discount once on sunglasses...sunglasses are an item not included."There are more important things--friendship and bravery...."

I go to the States at least once a month, don't forget to print coupons from the stores. If i'm going down for the weekend i will print coupons on Friday, most stores have them Macy's usually have take another 15-25% off regular and sales. The Bon Ton has a sale every week-end, the best one is take $10.00 off of every $25.00 spent, they let you do separate purchases. There are also alot of US sites my favorite is http://www.mommysavesbig.com/ ..Even my husband was surprised when we went to the Auto Zone, and I gave him a coupon for $25.00 when you spend $75.00, the guy working in the store said he had never seen a coupon for his store, but he took it( I guess men don't use them!!)....Also check the mall where you're shopping, the customer service department, they have promotions on all the time, at my mall if you spend $100.00 they give you a bridge pass, which is normally $3.25 (not a big deal, but better than nothing)..Love shopping in the States, but you have to know your prices....Canada has some great sale too, its just the tax I hate paying...
