Some people are pure evil.
There are many means to steal a truck without having to kill someone. I hope they catch the other suspects and that they all rot in prison.
I am so sad for his family. I prayed that he'd be found alive although things like this very rarely have a good outcome. The statement made by his wife had me in tears.
And I am sick and tired of CTV/CBC writing about the suspect and his background.Last edited by Jina; Tue, May 14th, 2013 at 03:52 PM.

In some ways, I am hoping that there is a bigger reason for this than just a truck. Such a senseless murder.

It would just be the worst job ever, being a homicide investigator. You search for motives, and when you discover the motive, it is never satisfying, always heartbreaking. Sometimes in a strange sick way, you understand why it happened, the killer was an evil monster, a psychopath, part of a criminal outfit.... but when the motive is petty theft or vanity, like this appears to be, from a well to do person, it must leave the most hollow feeling in the spirits of both families, investigators, and anyone who was following this.
Very sad day!

I agree with you Vesper. The hardest part has to be telling the family the heartbreaking news.
Det. Sgt. Matt Kavanagh of the Hamilton police
“This affects us all. It affects the entire community. It affects me as well.”
Kavanagh was the Hamilton police officer who broke the news to Bosma's family."
I had really hoped and prayed he would turn up alive. The whole thing is even more confusing when the accused is a millionaire. The best things in life...aren't things

I think there is even a more twisted side to the story now involving the disappearance of a woman. The man charged with killing Bosma was providing cocaine to this woman and her bf found evidence of their conversations on her phone, even though when she disappeared he denied knowing of her whereabouts, so now they think he also killed her too.

Oh no! This is horrible!! I suspect, this will be a case where the police investigating those deaths, knew he did it, but the Crown was not satisifed, thus failed to press charges. Crown prosecutors can be rather intimidated by rich powerful defence lawyers, and prefer rock solid evidence, before proceeding, where chances are, they would have against a less rich client.
If that is the case, they should be fired (Pure speculation).

I'm not sure if you have Double Jeparody laws in Canada.
In which case I disagree, CPS should have a water-tight case other-wise you can't re-try them on the same charges if they have been aquitted initially. If the police can't give CPS the correct evidence, then that's a different story.
Short answer : no Long answer : NOOOOOOOOOOO!

May 22 - second suspect arrested
Just after 10 a.m. Wednesday, police arrested 25-year-old Mark Smich of Oakville. Smich has been charged with first-degree-murder.

Just a note: when I 'like' stuff, please don't think I'm some sicko that likes horrifying news. I 'like' it because of the information it provides about the case.
