They are definately starting to gear towards the exclusive offers. It's kind of like a "reward" for frequently using the app. I'm sure that the exclusive offers will make up for the lack of items in the initial release, just like it did last week.
I love couponing!!!

I don't see it as much different than ebb and flow of coupons from smartsource, sometimes the companies just are not pushing a product at that time and the deals are worse.
These are basically coupons, they get reimbursed for the company for the $$ they give us, FreshPoints let you scan anything and get paid - it is much more sustainable

There is also the problem that FreshPoints made their app too accessible to start with. It was too easy to earn points, and the number of points needed to redeem for rewards was way too low. People could basically earn a gift card in a few hours. And then they suddenly raised the reward levels to an incredibly high amount, I think they lost a lot of users.
And like you said, they were rewarding something for nothing. You didn't need to purchase products, you could just scan them in store or write a review and earn points.

I only got Dove body wash and Glade decor scents. Jealous of the Pita Break! I used Vlasic and Pita Break when they were available in the past, too...
Nothing for me this week.

For the $60 grocery receipt, doesn't matter where. Also, the offer gives definition of groceries:
"Receipt must include $60 worth of grocery products after taxes, coupons and other discounts. The $60 worth of groceries must be on one receipt. Here's what we consider grocery products: Food, Beverage, Cleaning & Washing, Pharmacy, Personal Care, other Checkout 51 Offers."
