Does it really matter? Cart lady got there first, fair and square, and while it may be impolite of her to take a lot, it is significantly WORSE to steal out of somebody's cart.
Would you teach your children that it's okay to steal if somebody else has a lot of something? I doubt you would.
You're not being denied the chance to purchase anything just because it's all gone. Doesn't matter if one person took a ton or a ton of people took one. It's out of stock. If there are no limits on an item and no storewide household limits, a person is free to take what they wish. Perhaps cart lady wasn't even using coupons, it was just a good sale price for her.
She might not have a stockpile, but even if she did, who cares? You have a stockpile, I have a stockpile. Neither of us would be very pleased if we went to add to our stockpiles and somebody stole our purchases out of our carts, justifying perhaps that since we already have a stockpile at home they're more entitled to the item than we are, despite us getting that item first.
Regardless, if your desired item is out of stock it can be a pain in the @$$ but you can ask for a raincheck. It may be annoying for people who don't have a vehicle to have to go back at a later date, or to have your coupon expire, but that's life.
There is no reason in my mind that justifies stealing from another person.

I think that if I caught someone with their hands close to my cart I would freak out. I keep my purse there, a hand near my cart would spark instant rage because I would automatically assume that the person was going for my purse.
I think you should consider yourself lucky because you could have been caught midact, they could have jumped to the conclusion you were attempting to steal her purse or something and got yourself into some serious trouble.Love like crazy everyday and smile.

Promoting stealing while being smug isn't exactly something people on this site want to see either.

I just don't see how this was acceptable at all. No matter how badly I want something, I would NEVER take anything out of someone else's cart.
Why would you come here and post something like this? It's embarrassing for the Smartcanucks community.Last edited by salady; Fri, Jun 14th, 2013 at 08:35 PM.

I had that happen to me twice at No Frills - there was a limit of 2 and I got 2 and over 25+ left and then 20 minutes No Frills ran out and someone shopped in my cart. I got there first, I grabbed it and taking it from a cart it wrong. I gave her a piece of my mind cause it was mine and not my fault she didn't get there first and she could of went to another store. Second time it happened I was ok with it because she had problems and if people know Hamilton I was just nice to her.
It doesn't matter if she cleared the shelf, or she had coupons she was there first and you are so lucky she didn't catch you and report you to a manager - might of got banned from the store or escorted it. So wrong on many levels nothing to be proud of cause I have been on the other side and its horrible when someone takes something from your cart.

For me, it was the last line that made it feel like a brag. That "neener" bit was uncalled for in my opinion. If that last line was left out, I would have read it as a confession.
Just goes to show us all how emotion is left out of text, no matter how many emoticons we use

....and, well this sounds like a brag to me. Why is it in the rants section?

Is it "stealing" if it's not paid for?
Maybe we are getting a little excessive in our language.
