oh who asked me to watch my hubby for whiplash????

accident was tues. saturday he started complaining about his back. i said, maybe you did too much at work? (saturday he normally does strenuous work on floors, steam cleaning , or using buffers). no he said i din't do that much. i had mentioned whiplash to him tues or wed, he said, no he's fine, he wasn't moved that much, just moved the car ahead. i said, ya, but look at all the damage it did to the car, don't u think you might have sufferred some impact? so saturday, he starts considering it's whiplash, cause he says he din't do that much work on floors.

so today he moves the wrong way and it catches in his lower back. has to lie down several times. i said, you have to mention that to dr's wed. now he's saying maybe he worked too hard saturday.

Oh NS, this happens ALL the time. People are at the emergency room, saying "Oh he just tapped my bumper, I'm fine" but sometimes the movement of the neck is so fast, you don't even realize it happened. Then a week later they are back, saying "You were so right, my neck and back are killing me"... especially men!

Tell him to try to take it easy, and since it is 'soft tissue injury' heat usually helps a lot. If you have a heating pad, that will work, or just use really warm/hot wet facecloths. Especially on the neck, heat really helps the tissues recover.

I still haven't caught up with the posts mostly just got overview what ya all have been talking about.
NS hope your DH gets to feeling better soon, I had a whiplash when I was 17. Felt fine after the accident until a few hours later the whole right side of my neck got huge looked like mumps. It took me forever to get over that and at the end of my therapy they said I'd lost 10% of the mobility in my neck from it mostly because I tried to just ignore it probably and waited a long time to go see a dr. The heat really does help a lot especially moist heat seemed to help me the most.

Am sorry to hear a lot of you have problems with your mothers. I was very close to my mom although she seemed to know how to really irritate me we for the most part got along great. Used to tell her because my sisters were so much older then me it was like having 4 moms with my mom being more like a friend or sister then a mom. Her and my sisters never did get a long though and it was really heartbreaking for her. I accepted that she wasn't very motherly and something of a rebel but they ever did accept her for who she was. She's past away November 7, 1996 and I still really miss her.
I have a great tub story although my cat didn't think it was so funny! I had a very affectionate cat who seemed to be very empathic when it came to my emotions, wonderful cat loved her dearly. When I was in nursing school in my rotation thru ER I got to see my first code, it was on a woman that I knew and they weren't able to resusitate her. I was fine during the code but after it was over it hit me hard. Not only did I know the woman but she was a suicide. I went home and crawled into the tub to get some privacy from the kids and my cat came and sat on the edge of the tub which she liked to do. I was crying and whenever I'd do that she'd rub her cheeks against mine but lol she found out it wasn't a good idea to lean over the water while sitting on the edge of the tub to rub cheeks. She leaned over and just kept going omg she was sooooo mad but she did manage to cheer me up immensely. omg the look she gave me when I was LMAO at her. Its amazing how expressive a cat can be when they are mad as hell at you and plotting their revenge.

Nothing happend...I jsut wanted to do that No sense in someone possibly being aggitated over something i said. Even if it was 3 weeks ago. LOL. I try to be mindfull.

Whiplash is bad....I have it. He needs heat and possible PT. Moist heat. He neds to go to teh doc hes gooan beed massages to remvoe knots if taht is waht he has. UGHA. At least this way insurance will cover it right?

I jsut wanted to share i had crappy day yesterday with many issues and well, I also found out my dd got a tattoo. One of those jail type ones on her ankle. Mind you it's illegal......It's ok she could've doen worse I am jstu worred abotu steriality. Not sure what eh punishemnt will be as i told ehr I woudl not sign for one and she ahd to wait till she as 18 as she will probably not want the same thing at 30. LOL. Well it's taht blue type small, and ugly and i woudl love to knwo who did it.

I am gooan take her to get tested as i doubt it was sterile. Nice.....Boy teenagers are dumbells.
