Frugalbigmama-you may even have the luxury of time to enjoy extra sleep this weekend!! I swear you do in a day what might take me a few and I agree with macw 1960 that J and C is making us all look bad this week with her energy surge!

Thanks, it's not energy in my case but pure hard core determination and getting things done for a change around the house by myself .

This new year came with a totally new mindset, it's a nice change instead of my usual pity party or complaining about things instead of doing them, I now get er done or atleast try.

But Frugalbigmama is like a clip from a movie being fast forwarded, totally outstanding the number of things she gets done at the end of her work day I couldn't do it after a workday, kudos to her.

Good Afternoon Everyone,
Waiting for this day to be over so I can head home, not sure what is up but this week is really kicking my butt, I am so tired and just have no energy. Hoping it does not mean I am getting something that is going around, we have had various staff off all week with different forms of colds & flus. So really hoping I do not catch any of them.

I have not decided yet if we will venture out shopping this weekend or not, I wanted to go to Rexall to get some Laundry detergent but it is a 3 days sale and I do not think I will make it there tonight as it is snowing (not bad) but just do not feel like making the 30 minute from work and than 15 back home, not sure it is worth the drive just for laundry detergent. I will look over the flyers when I get home to see what if anything we need to pick up this week. I know there are a few produce items I want but I can always run into No Frills one night after work and Price Match those.

Questions:
Since it has not been asked yet is there anything you are looking to stock up on this week based on this week's flyers?

Nothing for me this week thank goodness which A okay with me. I am trying to do larger shops every 2 weeks and this is not the week

I don't know about your Rexall but ours is horrible for having the stock for those 3 days sales, I would call ahead before making a special trip for possibly nothing, it will save you time, energy & gas

Ashley enjoy your weekend and try and relax & sleep if possible it sounds like your body is wanting a vaca in bed or might be trying to fight off something from the office....don't people know it's not nice to share germs .

I agree I wish I would get as much done as FrugalBigMomma, I admit most nights after work it is one thing that gets done, maybe clean the bathroom (we only have 1) or empty the dishwasher.

I am really hoping once we have our house organized I get into a cleaning routine where each night after work I tackle one thing so come the weekend it is not like okay clean the whole house in a day.

How do you tackle cleaning your house?

Do you have a schedule you follow?

Do you do a bit each day, or do everything in one day?

Just for the fun of it, what is the one chore you wish you could never do again?

I know when it comes to sharing people just don't listen to when I tell them I am A Okay with them not sharing their germs, but as it goes we all work in small areas with other people and well sometimes we share.

Yes I did do one update on what the basement now looks like. So far no new progress on the bathroom, I was really hoping for to get that done after work this week since it is a much smaller project but I had not planned on going out 3 nights this week after work so it did not happen maybe this week.

I was also kind of wondering at least for the winter months where getting out isn't as easy if we could do bi weekly shopping with a small things picked up in town instead of these large shops. I will have to see how things go because if anyone would have issues with this it would be me, I will see a deal and it will all fall apart. But on that note not sure we need too much this week so maybe just maybe this might work.

My word I couldn't do a week on your wake up time and your long work hours, I don't think I could last 2 days before crying my head off with exhaustion, the stress and I would be walking around like a zombie, you do so much after work which I don't think you realize....you are always doing something by your posts - you need to give yourself more credit than you do . Sweet Sparrow: the next few years are hell financially and there is no other way to put it. Daycare is a killer but it does not last forever. DH & I are 47 this year and the boys are 10 and 13, we have had no daycare costs for the past two years and what a difference it makes. I worked full time (lucky it’s the same company and I am a manager so lots more flexibility than many) when they were younger and I never imagined not working for lots of reason many financial. We tried a variety of daycare options and all worked at that stage in our lives. In fact the private home daycare was hit or miss but I stumbled upon a stay at home mom when my oldest was in SK and she was a dream. She is now one of my closest friends and my youngest is best friends with one of her sons. Truth is we are in a very good place financially right now but things can change so we keep with our plan. Sometimes the creativity can be found with your employer. At one point I worked 7-3 and DH worked until 6 so we could minimize daycare. He also left jobs that did not pay him market value and now makes double what he did when we had our 1^st. Can you work less days and still keep your benefits.
I too drive a crap van as I call it. Sure I could go out tomorrow and by a nice new vehicle. But I would rather save for my retirement or take a vacation. At the end of the day who cares what we drive. If it gets us to where we want to be that’s is good enough for me. Given the city I live in it’s a good thing I don’t have a “keeping up with the Jones” mentality cause I would be buried in debt.

Every day I come here and find new inspiration and ideas and most of all the encouragement. Sometimes there is just no more corners to cut, but hopefully it won’t always be like that. And the babies grow faster than you can imagine. When I went to the high school orientation last night and saw “Welcome class of 2018” I almost cried.

I don't have a schedule I probably should as I seem to go around in circles (bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, livingroom, repeat). I tidy up the house daily, beds, dishes, 1 load of laundry everyday and put everything where it goes daily as well, I do the wipe downs of the bathroom & dusting weekly and the boys wash the bathroom floor once a week and the kitchen floor daily, the hardwood floors get vacuumed every other day as for everything else it gets done when I feel like it to be honest.

Do you do a bit each day, or do everything in one day?

I don't have a specific day for the bathroom or washing floors I am not that organized.

Just for the fun of it, what is the one chore you wish you could never do again?

How do you tackle cleaning your house?

Do you have a schedule you follow? set in stone normally is Friday's I change our bed sheets, Wednesday's I usually have loads of towels. other then that I just do things nightly/or on weekends.

Do you do a bit each day, or do everything in one day? as for house cleaning, I try to vacuum at least once a day the main level, the stairs get done fridays. I usually try to do a 'clean sweep' of the bathrooms every Friday as well. The kitchen is normally done every day, dishes/counters washed/wiped. put away. the floor swept. I would love to see our floors get washed at least 2x a week. but seeing as im the only one who does it.. maybe once a week.
IF things get really behind. Dh and I tackle the house on a weekend. i wish i could wave a magic wand and have our kids participate.. so far. i can't find one that works.

Just for the fun of it, what is the one chore you wish you could never do again? im in a debate between dishes and laundry. as they never end. everything else i don't mind doing as i love how everything looks cleaner after.
even dh complimented me this morning on how clean the house looked last night when he came home...at like 2 in the morning.

SA-I must admit my husband does a big clean once per week-it takes him about 3 hours to do the kitchen, floors, vacuuming and 2 bathrooms( kids do their own)-he will also sometimes dust or dust the blinds or I do the general dusting. Lucky for me when I worked full-time and he was the stay at home parent he got into a cleaning routine and when I retired 4 years ago I offered to help and he said no-I didn't argue. I still do at least half the cooking, at least half the laundry, all the groceries and we take turns with things like driving the kids around etc. It all works for us but of course we don't work so much easier to fit things in from not being tired from working all day.

-I don't have set days for chores -today I did 2 loads of laundry before 6.am then will put one in tonight -don't like my dirty laundry lying around
-hate doing dishes-was have -nope dont want to run dishwasher -not needed as only 2 of us
-need to wash the floor -but sanded for hubby today instead
-will get to chores when needed

my mom always used to say when you have friends-dont worry what their house is like-you are visiting them

For me personally I think the biggest thing I struggle with is before we moved we lived in a Bungalow and if I out my mind too it, I could pretty much clean the house after work. Vacuum, Bathroom, Dust, empty the dishwasher where is that would be impossible where we live now.
