Lol, I like the cooking shows but mostly the competition stuff. I went to culinary school and wanted to be a chef but once I moved to Vancouver I changed course to hotel front desk.

Oh Cabmonk....how I would love to go to culinary school. I just do it old school and LOVE to cook, but would love to learn some techniques I've seen watching TV shows. I really want to lean plating techniques, not quite as easy as it seems.

Morning everyone,any great plans for the long weekend? We were suppose to be heading out tomorrow morning on our trip, but I think we won't be leaving till Monday or Tuesday. While packing the "underbelly" oft he coach, I discovered a leak in the front bathroom. Dh checked it out and it was only a lose clamp, but we want to go over everything, to be sure we wont have any other leaks or issues on our trip. Nothing can ruin a trip faster than a breakdown and unexpected expense.

Have a great non-long weekend, long weekend. I am off Monday so will be enjoying four days of doing nothing.

Holly it was a good experience for me going to culinary school. I was there about a year and took many different courses such as baking, cooking techniques, wine tasting, We also learned how to do larger volume working in the schools restaurant and each student took turns being head chef for the day in the restaurants kitchen. making sure each other student knew what they were making for dinner service in the restaurant. We also had to explain to the wait staff what each dish was and how it was prepared so wait staff could tell customers. So you would have to go around to each student and ask them how they were preparing their dishes and what went into them. We also had to prepare and serve an 800 person banquet for a schools sports awards ceremony.

When i say the restaurants kitchen I mean the school had a fine dining restaurant open to the public staffed by students.
