Free vacuums

I got free vacuums by accident.

I ordered a single inexpensive vacuum because my current vacuum while much nicer is far too large for my place. It was a good buy. I just received it and opened the box. I tried it out. It's exactly what I expected and perfect. However in addition to the one I ordered, they appear to have shipped me several extra. I'm trying to decide what to do with them..to return them, donate them, or to give everyone I know in small apartments new vacuums for christmas .... that's the question. And while I know there are sally honesty out there. The multinational company who made the error is a really crook.

You should return them.

It might not be today, it might not happen tomorrow, but this 'multinational' company WILL realize their error and expect these extra vacuums to be returned. Of course, make sure that they pick them up at your convenience. You shouldn't have to spend you time and gas to return them to a brick & mortar store.

It doesn't matter if this company is a crook in your eyes, it's about doing the right thing. From your posts I know you are a good person, mandolinatou. You should rise above this situation.

Call or email them so you can get a free postage thing to return them.

I don't want to say the exact details in case I decide to give them away, but its under 5 extra. It was a labeling issue in the warehouse that would be very hard to pinpoint who got the extra ones and they were very cheap....as in maybe not even worth while to the company to pay the shipping and reshelf. I am close enough to this particular store I could go..but being who I am (I am a good person who hates "the man") I have no qualms about keeping them, but I don't need that many. I would feel like a thief if I returned them for store credit so I would never do that. I also couldn't sell them because that seems like stealing to me. So I will either return them or find people who need vacuums. Thanks for your advice though. Its one of those things people feel strongly about and I totally get that.

IMO if you have to second guess what to do with them then you probably already know what the right thing to do is.
