Last year they emailed quite a number of optimum members to join, they limited the number they accepted. They email links to do their surveys every few months. I did one yesterday, only 100 points, but that wasn't my point in joining, I like that I get to give my opinion on upcoming changes. For example one in November I think, asked about which coupons/promos you would prefer. Sure enough, the coupons changed a couple of months later.
The breast cancer one was a breast cancer awareness promo for everyone. You could enter your optimum number at the end to receive optimum points.
If they happen to email you to join, just move on it quickly, they fill up fast.Last edited by maple7; Thu, Mar 19th, 2015 at 12:20 PM.

Ok I went tonight with my mom to our fav shoppers in Whitby ON to use her "senior's discount" on beauty etc. I think I got ripped some points. I can't figure out how though????
I bought 33.70 worth of food/pop coupon of 8,000 on food and snacks
84.80 Estée Lauder lotion+cream 20x when you purchase any face lotion or cream
2.49 life brand mouthwash 2300 on any mouthwash
base point 1200
dept bonus points 18260 (no clue as to how they came up with this? since my beauty total would be 84.80)
trans bonus points 17120 (figure that is my 20x on the $48 cream and 8k on food minus cream base points)
total points 36580
Anybody have any input???

Senior discount on beauty?
I thought that 20% off on Thursdays Senior Day does not include prestige cosmetics.. (Prestige cosmetics includes Estee Lauder..... Lancome, Benefit, Dior, Smashbox, Chanel, etc.)
Did you get 20% off the Estee Lauder product??
The extra points might be specific to a brand? sometimes they have extra bonus points for purchasing a specific beauty product or brand.

Base points 1200
20 x beauty event - 840 x 19 = 15960 (this is in dept bonus points)
480 x 19 = 9120 for $48 cream (this is in trans bonus points)
8000 bp for food/snacks (this is in trans bonus points)
2300 bp for mouthwash (this is in dept bonus points)
total 36580Last edited by Bugaboo9601; Fri, Mar 20th, 2015 at 03:16 AM.

I love SDM coupons because so many of them provide incredibly good value. I totally get why someone would be interested in using some of them more than once. That said, I've been getting their coupons long enough now to have noticed that the great coupons come back time after time. Maybe not every week, but often enough that I can get the same fabulous deal again and again, while respecting SDM's policy which is communicated by the wording on the coupons of "Offer expires after one use and cannot be used on subsequent transactions." To me, it doesn't matter if techincially the coupon works again in their POS or not that same week. The intent of the policy is communicated very clearly on each of the weekly coupons they send.
