Oh, so sad that my tablet doesn't work - doesn't even turn on. I had noticed that over this past week it wasn't holding a charge very long. It's a year and a half old and has been amazing! My son got it for me, he's pretty sure he got an extended warranty - so fingers crossed for that...
Thanks, everyone, for the Easter wishes!
Well, here are some of my Paskas - I'm not great at the decorating, often the parts added on top lift off - but this time I ran out of dough. I just made sure some of them had a cross on them - No matter, they taste wonderful anyway!
My hands/arms are sure sore though - for Babka making, all you do is form a ball of dough and drop it in the pan.
For Paskas, you make entwined ropes of dough and encircle them in the pan, plus forming the top decorations.

Happy, Holy Easter Natalka and all your family and those who will be celebrating along with you!
Latest update on DH. We had not heard back from our own doctor after 3 days of messages and so went to ER. (This is very unusual for her as she is really very good.) They showed appropriate concern - took new samples and blood work which will take up to 5 working days to get results from the lab. But the blood work didn't show anything terrible like kidney trouble etc. But, he is now on round 3 of anti-biotics with a little twist. It is not usually carried by pharmacies. Has to be a special order. It can come in IV if the patient is in the hospital or by pill OR the pharmacist can make up oral fluids from the IV fluid. Well - our own pharmacy didn't have it and their suppliers were back ordered. Two other pharmacies phoned around for us and - no deal. So back to the ER we went and the wonderful nurse practitioner pulled of a miracle solution.
The hospital pharmacy HAD it in IV form. He talked the hospital pharmacist into personally delivering it to OUR pharmacist on his way home and to instruct them on how to convert it into oral form. Otherwise we would have had to wait at LEAST until Monday. Also, the oral liquid doses are $30 per day and the regular pill doses (which weren't even available) were going to be $120 per day and nothing covered by Ontario Drug Benefits.
The nurse practitioner is saying that there may, in fact, be something additional going on like a parasite or another kind of bacteria, so we await the lab results but can at least get started on an anti-biotic that works. Another 10 days of "seclusion." And hoping for SOMETHING to work.

Mrs. S. I would recommend a hand-made crochet blanket. The money will just disappear, but the blanket will be there for a very long time to remind them of the love that went into making it!

Coupon Girl! Great deal on the pants! I bought a new couple of pairs at Reitman's the other day. I didn't think of going to Cleo's.

Oh Natalka!! those breads!! They turned out beautiful. I know they were plenty of work to make and I think the designs look great! Wishing you all the best over your Easter celebrations.
Avon, thank goodness you persevered and got DH on another round of antibiotics sooner! Fingers crossed on the latest blood results.
I have decided NOT to go to RCSS tomorrow for their No Tax day, they keep giving me the crappiest offers, so I will let this week pass.

Thinking of you Avon and DH. Hope rest and health arrive quickly.
Principal was going to change my assignment last minute for next year. He did have a brief convo with me about it but hadn't made a decision. The more I thought, the more I realized the conversation was in violation of my rights. It is his right to give me whatever grade he sees fit, but I asked that it be irrespective of the fact that I would not be here as it is still MY job not the temps. There is a lot more nitty gritty I won't get into that came up. I will say I am entitled to return to my job (Gr.6). He was going to change my grade and give me 6 when I return. Principals are placed after teachers so he could be at a new school! Then I would not be entitled to the 6 I would be entitled to a new grade I have never taught before. He didn't have to give me the 6, but most likely would if I wasn't pregnant.Last edited by Granger; Fri, Apr 10th, 2015 at 09:05 PM.
