These were formerly fresh tomatoes ( thank you WM reduce rack!! ) that I had previously chopped and blended with fresh basil and cilantro ( from garden pots ) and fresh garlic and froze them into Ziploc tubs.
Will add maybe 2 large jars my homemade pasta sauce preserves from last year and toss in sliced onion/red bell peppers and let it all simmer.
He then asked me where will we get buns for the meatball sammies?? Easy, last 3 small garlic baguettes taken from freezer too! ( these were just .88 each at NF a while back) He seems relieved to have something yummy to take into work tonight.
I'll be ringing the dinner bell when it is done!! THAT is my idea of a frugal meal!! Using up what we had here.
awesome job, I wish my WM had produce clearance racks, sounds like you're on a roll, hope your dh's back feels better soon
2019 is the year that we continue to save before we buy!!!

Firstly Happy Canada day! (late of course)

Thank you to all for the thoughts well wishes and prayers.

an atv/4 wheeler s what we rolled. BF Spent from Friday *june 26 to July 2nd in the ICU for 4 of those days he was on a ventilator and unconscious after surgery to remove his ruptured spleen. He ended up with the ruptured spleen, the 8th rib broken, a contusion on his left lung and his collar bone broken in two places. They are supposedly releasing him on wedensday. 2 weeks after our accident.

I ended up with a broken right wrist and a lot of bruising. I was checked in 2 ERs and told that i had bone bruising on my left shoulder. I beleived it to be more because it cracks and pops and hurts like a son of a gun at times. Tonight the ER phoned me and they were reviewing the Xrays from last week. As it turns out...my scapula is fractured. they cant cast it so i;ll just have ti live with it as is while it heals. I feel slightly vindicated now as i know the pain and sounds are not all in my head. I was back at work on the 2nd for a full day and a half day on the 3rd. Today as well was a full day.

I'm happy we are both alive. Grateful we were smart enough to wear helmets. Listened to a lecture from my uncle on the dangers of ATVing without another quad with us.

My mom and one of my sisters drove up from SK (14 hr drive) the day after the accident to be with me. The family and friend support for both of us was fantastic. I feel...very very loved. I provided them much entertianment trying to do for myself with one hand (i have discovered the joys of spray on deodorant)

I'm very thankful that they sent him to YK as they ruptured spleen was not diagnosed locally.

On a happy note...I got my eyes checked a couple weeks ago and my perscription hasnt changed. I had a Test last week for a job and now waiting to hear what the next step is. My garden is growing wonderfully but i havent weeded it yet. I sold one of my refurb pcs this week and a client for the screen repair on an ipad is willing to wait until my cast is off for me to repair her screen.

Our boys got a new puppy at their moms house. It drives me wild because they bring it over with her...it pees and poops and they leave it for me to clean up. Their dad said as of today its not allowed over until she has it house trained.

So far this month i'm on budget....but we will see how things go with cooking for myself left handed! BF says when he gets home we can co-opeate he'll be one hand and i can be the other.

holy yikers! That was some joy ride on the ATV. You said it all about being glad you're both alive, close call indeed! Hoping your recovery goes as quick as possible for the two of you. My guess is yours may be better much sooner? ( and you are working already! , what a champ! )

The wildfire smoke issues continue. The smoke is bothering all three of us, so we are continuing to limit the amount of time we spend outside. My garden hasn't been weeded in a week and it now shows.

I called J&J to order my monthly coupons this morning. I also updated my profile on Healthy Essentials and ordered a J&J trial pack coupon. I then called about some bad canned fruit that I opened on the weekend and they are sending me coupons. In the mail today I received 2x $3 off any Danone yogurt coupons. This was from providing them with feedback about a new yogurt flavour that LO and I both didn't like. On Wednesday I am going to pm Sobeys at NF, use the $3 off coupons and get +700pts for each Activia yogurt that I purchase. LO and I have eaten a lot of yogurt over the last week or so in our fruit smoothies.

This morning I took LO to the optometrist because he will be 3yrs old in September. She was very impressed with how well he worked with her, she gave us many complements. His eyes look great. He picked a bouncy ball as his prize at the end, which he took to bed with him tonight.

We visited my neighbour with the 4 children after we were done his appointment. I encouraged her to book the appointments for her children in the next two weeks, that way I can help her. She has said more than once about how she has been procrastinating and cancelling various appointments. I've offered to either go with her and the children to the appointments, or for me to stay at her place with some of the kids while the others accompany her to different necessary appointments. She truly thanked me, so I"m hoping she takes me up on the offer. I won't have much of an opportunity to help her out in this way once the twins are born.

This Saturday is our second garage and bake sale fundraiser of the year, it will be hosted at our house again. I have to get advertising it tomorrow. Someone stopped by today to donate more items to the sale.

I think mine will be faster as i didnt loose an organ lol. I honestly thought for a few minutes after i got up that he was dead. Scariest night of my life i swear.

it didnt hurt near as much for me as it did when i had a horse throw me off backwards then rear up and fall ontop of me and roll. (i rate that one as a 10 on the pain scale)

I think youre getting some of our smoke. We drove through one area last saturday on the way to YK where the fires jumped the highway 3 times just before we went through. AND then they closed the highway.

saundyl, thanks for updating - hoping you heal quickly (did you HAVE to go back to work?), and I wish all the best for your boyfriend's recovery. How very scary...
It was on the news a few days ago they were thinking of evacuating Hay River, so I sure thought of you then and hoped you were safe.

wow, you posted the photos just as I posted my reply.

In SK, we're getting mostly the smoke from the really bad fires north of LaRonge - but of course drifting down from the territories, too.

I had to - sadly the company i work for doesnt offer paid sick days or id have taken a few more off. Also I'm the only person at this time in the office who can do Cheques for real estate closings or payroll. (im working on training someone else as backup)

I was a little freaked when they were talking about it as we were in YK at the time and our dogs were with a friend. I even sent a text to him saying please please take them with you if they evacuate everyone./

@saundyl - Glad to hear you are both on the road to recovery. I need my boys to read your messages for a safety reminder for each of them.

Thank goodness you're okay! That must have been quite the scare. I hope you and DH recover quickly. At least you'll be able to do more things together if you'll be each other's opposite hands.

There could be a lot of running jokes about being the better half or that opposites attract. Unless of course, you hate puns, in which case, please ignore me. Laughter is the best medicine sometimes.
