I hate roundabouts. In Listowel they put a traffic light in for the walking trail. I think in all the years it`s been there I`ve only had to stop a few times. Meanwhile at a main intersection where there should be one they`ve been talking for a few years about putting a roundabout because a light would cost too much. Go figure

UGGGHHH! We have gravel trucks and grain trucks going through the intersection. Farmers and mostly rural people use it ( myself included). And what makes it worse is that there is a very busy railway less than 50 meters from it. I can foresee tons of accidents and traffic backups in the future. I will be using the back roads to get to town.

i had no idea there was a shortage either.. though i do know many places are harvesting early due to the hot dry weather

getting frustrated with the moving company - I stressed that my plane to Ontario is July 30 at 6am - I put it in many emails - got an email stating the manager said yes way before July 30. I keep calling and emailing - nothing, zero responds and now I get "Your pickup is going to be between approximately Monday to Wednesday. I will stress to my scheduling manager again that we have to pick up your goods before July 30th."
Would it be bad to call the Scheduling Manager? I wonder if its too late to find another company.

    sigh the stress..

I went away for work conferences (in the US) in both AUG and SEPT last year and added the roaming package on before I left and assumed that they would leave it on until I called to have them remove it. AUG bill was fine....SEPT bill came in at over $2000!! They told me it was a month to month thing you have to renew. Argh! I managed to get it reduced by about half but I was still over what their maximum for roaming was and had to pay just under $1000 I believe.

My contract is up in Aug so I am pretty sure I can use that leverage to have them take care of this.
I wouldn't take no for an answer...i would also look into having an alert set up on your account so if they mess up like that again you have more leverage. For ex set your account so if your bill is going to be more than xxx $ then the account is suspended. Either way I always find with any company they want your business more for the long haul. ...so a gentle insinuation about leaving usually works wonders 😃.

That IS incredibly ridiculous! I was conceived in NWT, and lived there for a short time as a youngster. Once we hit BC's lower mainland I never looked back. My mom however missed it and really loves the remote living. She ended up working in Ft. Providence and Tulita where the only way to get supplies is over the ice road when it's frozen, a barge up the river when it's not or Buffalo air. All options are either super expensive or very slow.

Futureshop and Amazon were her savior. FS pretty much 100% of the time shipping is free. And when buying right from Amazon and not an associated merchant and meet the min. purchase it's free.

This is how she did got by, relying on these 2 companies. If she needed anything else she got us to buy it ship it to her.

Amazon required a minimum spend of 125 to ship up here free In January this year. At some point this year they made remote locations ineligible fir super saver free shipping If it's amazon doing the shipping . I look for the free shipping merchants and they still work so far.

Best buy still does free shipping but with future shop gone there seems to be fewer and fewer places that are reasonable.

Doh! I wasn't even thinking about FS being no more. I made many care packages for her when she was up there and she often did ebay purchases and then had me forward them to her. If I can every help you out in that way please do let me know. I know its not free but in some situtations it can save a great deal of money.

This was the update on my Amazon.ca tracking this morning... I live in Moncton New Brunswick. It was scheduled to be delivered tomorrow. So if there is a delay I will have to wait all weekend. And now I'm confused on if I have to stay home all day on Friday or not. I guess my best bet is to check for an update tomorrow and decide if I can take the kids out for my 1 day only fpcs or if I have to send dh to go by himself after work.

Went out to get the 1 day only fpcs left at 10:40am (to catch the 10:50am bus) and got back at 1:45pm to find a delivery attempt notification. So I guess there was no delay after all but now dh will have to go pick it up himself tomorrow. We bought a big box of easy ups, a batman costume for ds2 and a stroller rain guard... I assume it's in a pretty big box and will be annoying to walk home with.

It is time for DH to go to work! He leaves on the 3rd and I am counting down the days. Seriously, it's like have a toddler around here. "Where's my keys?" " Get me a towel" " Can you get me a drink?"" Help me pack a bag for the lake" " Where's my meds?" ARRRGGGG!!!! And he is a SLOB! Dirty dishes everywhere, garbage on tables ( ie banana peels, cheese slice wrappers, cigarette packages......) dirty clothing in trails around the house. The bathroom is always a disaster when he is done. Wet towels, toilet seat up, stuff on counter like hairspray, brush, lotion, razor and always facial hair in sink.
