I just don't see the exchange rate stays the same. SDM is an overpriced store, whereas NF is a discount grocery store. I just don't think 95K optimum points would give me $170 in groceries.

I think the programs should be kept separate.
There are ways that I can shop at RCSS that benefit me there, and different ways that I shop at SDM to benefit me there.
I am perfectly happy collecting the maximum points possible according to my needs, and based on the very different selections offered at each store.
If they start having to mesh and average out the points programs, I can only see less opportunities to maximize savings/points combinations. In 2020 I had 100 FREE Grocery pickups! Subscribe to PC Optimum Insiders & get 25,000 PC Optimum pts

meh? I'm rarely at SDM, still have not even reached the first redeem level ( close though! ha ha ) so it would not affect me in particular, but I can see how the point values changing would not sit well with many of you. ( amira? are you hearing this?? ) ha ha

Yes @walkonby . I am listening to everyone's comments and I am sure that sdm will come up with a horrible points conversion formula. I am scared that they will devalue the optimum points in their rewards levels. They already messed up with personalized small offers and took them down the pcplus drain.

Meh, I don't like PC Plus. They always send me crap offers, and their cashiers rarely ask me for my card. Of course I forget to have them scan it sometimes. Right now I have a measly 900 points. With Optimum though, in the 1.5 years I've been with the program, we've been able to redeem 95k pts on a Spend Your Points event for hub's PS4, and both our cards have more than 100k pts. I don't mind if they offer the option to exchange points, but please don't mess with Optimum!

I just did the survey, in the end couldn't give it a good review, I was trying to be fair but wish I was harsher on it. I had visions of Pcplus customers that don't frequent Shoppers invading Shoppers only on the best promo days. The size of the stores don't warrant large stock levels. I can think of my eight closest stores, two of them have a 4 limit rule, if it's on sale in any way ie. in the flyer/instore promo, you are allowed 4. If PCPlus customers are cashing in during major promos and Christmas, I'm sure it's going to be harder to get items or even reach a 20x limit. Higher end beauty items in particular I can see being tough to get, especially Christmas sets. I was also thinking of the number of times people have posted that they can't get something because only some stores carry one or none. BTW, I collect PCplus as well.

I was trying to think of how I would use it and how others would too. Usually better prices can be found in their grocery stores, so I only see converting to optimum points for items you can't find in their grocery stores or to participate in promo events. As a loyal SDM customer, this is where I see I would lose out.
I do agree they won't make this decision without much consideration.
