lift up the receiver, I'll make you a believer!
Take second best, put me to the test, things on your chest, you need to confess!
I will deliver, you know I'm a forgiver!

Hello Loocie!
You are such a brave woman!
DH is also on a clinical trial, as I think I have shared with you.
With his it means a trip to London every few weeks. His meds have relatively few side effects.
We are going to Florida on Monday to visit his son. I am hoping his son can grasp how much more slowly our life runs now.
We went to Denver to meet DH's first grand-daughter in the summer. The trip was very hard for him. The altitude proved a problem. Thankfully, Florida is at sealevel! LOL!
You are right. Each cancer journey is unique.
I hope that having us around gives you some smiles on a down day!
Your poems are wonderful!
Our tiny rose bushes are still blooming up a storm and the marigolds that wouldn't bloom in the summer are bursting with flowers. But we are being warned of ..... SNOW..... on Saturday.
Tomorrow we will go and celebrate DH's mother's birthday. She is in a nursing home and really doesn't want to celebrate her 88th birthday. She would rather be about 50! I hope it all doesn't confuse her.
Wishing you mellow times with sunshine mixed in liberally!
Best Wishes!

Happy Birthday to a young lad, who made me a first time Mom,
30 years ago today I joined that exclusive alum,
Curious & inquisitive he was with a propensity for climbing,
He loved beginning the day very early, so much for his timing,
Spending days when it was just him & still vivid & so clear,
Little expressions & baby-isms that will always be so dear,
A toddler who had energy that could have been bottled & sold,
I even still have tinges of guilt for the times when I did scold,
A hockey fan extraordinaire & a lover of Italian food,
& also expressive with opinions in a way that is subdued,
A little bit of a temper, but he doesn’t get that from me?
I’m just a lucky Mom who’s grateful that he joined my family tree,
Worked hard & sometimes struggled, but kept on plugging along,
Maybe some of our family experiences helped to make him strong,
So just a little tribute to a little boy, who asked questions in plentiful style,
Wishing you a Happy Birthday, just makes my day so worthwhile.
(feeling blessed)

Ready to start my week..........a non treatment week. I should be able to eat and taste normally. A shout out to my friends who are participating in the ScotiaBank Waterfront Marathon. The proceeds raised will go to benefit the Neurofibromatosis Society of Ontario. (the disorder I am afflicted with). If I did not have NF......I would not be sitting here in this condition. It rarely turns into a malignancy, but in my case I've been En-Garde for a very long time.
Neurofibromatosis type one is very hard to describe,
And if it was an ‘app’, no one would ever subscribe,
Tumours and bumps in our bodies infiltrating our nerves,
When you live with NF, the road has uncertain curves,
Learning disabilities that challenge some of us, can lead to such frustration,
Headaches and often back problems that interfere with relaxation,
Nodules that are considered cosmetic seem to grow at will,
Optic Gilomas, high blood pressure & brain tumours; how I wish they would be still,
Café-au-Lait spots and lots of freckles on our bodies; and in the most private places,
Do you realize the diversity of NF and that there are no two identical cases?
Sometimes mean and disfiguring; are those tumours on a mission?
Wouldn’t it be nice to send NF packing into permanent remission?
We know the numbers are 1 in 3000 and that it is a genetic mutation,
There is no path of predictability, although it is a defining vocation,
The pain that NF causes can be jarring, electrifying and stabbing,
Sometimes you are worn down so much; it’s to the point where one is crabbing,
I believe that one does not live with NF, I think it merely lives with you,
For now keeping on top of things as best you can, is one thing that we can do,
The many manifestations that affect us in several ambiguous ways,
Our common goal that NF will be history, and hope that a cure comes one of these days!

I know it is coming down to the crunch,
But they need to start packing a mighty punch,
Things can go topsy-turvy in the blink of an eye,
We get that sinking feeling & some even cry,
Hey Blue Jays, you know that we love you tons,
Get those bats connecting to score us some runs,
The Jays are our team & think most extraordinaire,
Blue Jay fever is thriving alongside many a Blue Jay prayer,
So I am asking you all to keep the faith....
Maybe they'll seal the win for us in the eighth.
