Hi, everyone!
Happy Day today just because these two have FINALLY decided that closeness is a good thing!
One week today since Taffy came home - she's doing great, and life with Vader is back to normal - yay!
Taffy has been trying for days to clean Vader, who would just run away. Vader would sniff Taffy. Then they would be a foot away, then inches away. Finally, snuggles!

Nat what a beautiful family picture!! Should be on a Christmas card!!
Well, here's news on our local front: our DD and her family went from no pets to adopting a rescue dog last week, to a little black kitten yesterday!! Yep....their little guy wanted a kitten so off to PetValue, where there were several little kittens from PetSave here (a no-kill policy) and he picked up a pure black little girl! With all the paraphenalia, and $500 later, he was home with a kitten. And of course, she's adorable, we visited today. Boy can they jump at that age...all the way to the first level of her climbing house! And she's using her litter-box, so all's well there: from no animals to 2 in a week! I asked her if she was preparing an ark and she said the same thought had crossed her mind...lol...
So...two new little critters to buy Christmas gifts for!!
Oh, btw...our DD said the gal at the store was overjoyed that they were bringing the pure black one home since they're usually the last to be adopted. Seems they don't look good in "family photos"! Can you believe it?!! Sheesh!! He named her DJ.

Wow, a kitten to go with a puppy - that's very brave! As for the price, well, we've always gotten free kittens and have only needed a litterbox and scooper for about $25, plus food and litter costs. Luckily my husband was handy enough to build a nice cat tree. Toys are free - the plastic thing from the milk jug, wadded up paper, an occasional found ball...
Today is St. Nicholas Day on the Gregorian calendar. Our church is still on the Julian calendar, but our nephew from Croatia posted pics of their celebration - he's the parish priest. Traditionally, kids would recite verses, sing songs for St. Nicholas, who then would give them gifts.

Lovely pictures, Nat...I miss going to church with my parents when I was young, into my teens....It was such a special time of year, Christmas lasted such a long time...special clothes, dresses, visitors and visiting; we were very blessed.
As for the kitten: The most spoiled kitten in town! Lol!Last edited by Lynn49; Sun, Dec 6th, 2015 at 11:07 PM.

When we moved to Montreal, I had to pick the cats up from Customs and declare a value for them...
There was me, 4 Customs Officers and about 8 truckers trying to decide how much a pet was worth ...
We ended up with a token $10 each...
Short answer : no Long answer : NOOOOOOOOOOO!

Darth Penguin, if their true value was ever declared you'd still be paying the customs duty on them!

GOOD MORNING, everyone!!!
Mmmmm, my kingdom for a coffee, or water, or anything this morning...off to the hospital for a persantine stress test. It has to be done this way, unfortunately, because I can't walk fast on a treadmill to get my heart rate up high enough to register stress. Although they probably don't have to do a thing since I'm stressed enough about the test!
Only a high of +4 today, but climbing the rest of the week, and no white, crappy stuff to be seen anywhere!! Now THAT'S what I call Christmas!!
Have a lovely day, everyone!!!

Hello all.
Lynn, wow, your DD is in quite the 'lets build our family' mode. Lucky kitten.
Nat, what a great picture, and a heartwarming story - beginning to end. For the two of them to reunite, Vader accepting Taffy back, what more could you want for Christmas.
I had a lot of company yesterday, but the last didn't leave till after 1 a.m. I'm so tired, which may account for my headache.
I'm suppose to go to see the surgeon @ the hospital Wed., but my 'ride' was admitted to hospital this morning, and they're operating to remove his gall bladder tomorrow. I've made a dozen calls, but so far no one's available.

Hello! All tests done, all 3 hrs worth and I'm so wiped. I can't wait for 2015 to be over!
Hicks, gosh, I hope you find a lift tomorrow...what about hospital volunteers...a seniors' centre that may have volunteers? I suppose you tried those...rats. So another X-Ray tomorrow to determine whether or not you can go dancing on the weekend? Good luck, Hon..
The sun came out, it's +4, no white crap....a beautiful fall day!
