Humanitarian Ambulances Arriving from Canada
Ten ambulances are to be given by The “Ukraine Appeal”, a Canadian national Humanitarian initiative in support of Ukraine (it is realized by major Ukrainian Organizations in Canada under the leadership of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress), to the Kharkiv Region hospitals.
The first five of them will arrive in late November according to the recent agreement with the Kharkiv Regional State Administration.
“These specialized cars are mobile clinics with the most modern equipment. The medical crews working at them will be provided with proper training. Moreover, the Canadian partners assume these ambulances maintenance and spare parts supply”, said a Deputy Chair of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration Mr Mykhailo Cherniak.

Kerry Diotte
MP Edmonton Griesbach
Today (Nov. 4), I had the honour to begin the debate in the House of Commons on my Private Member’s Bill, Bill C-306 – the Crimean Tatar Deportation (“Sürgünlik”) Memorial Day Act.
This Act would recognize the mass deportations of Crimean Tatars in 1944 by the Soviet regime as genocide and establish May 18 as a day of commemoration.
In 2015, the Parliament of Ukraine officially recognized the deportations of 1944 as genocide and called on other countries to join them in recognizing this atrocity.
Canada has long-been a defender of human rights and the rule of law.
This Bill is also important today because we cannot separate the deportations of 1944 and Russia’s theft of Crimea from Ukraine seventy years later.
As a loyal friend to Ukraine, now is the time to respond to the call.

November 13, 1708 is a sad day in the history of Ukraine. Cossack Ivan Mazepa was Hetman [Head of State] over the capital of Baturyn, a historic town in Chernihiv Oblast. Baturyn, with its 40 churches, 2 colleges, and 20,000 inhabitants, was sacked, torched & totally razed to the ground by the Russian army. Many people were burned alive in churches with locked doors to prevent escape; the governor of the town was "broken on the wheel" [form of torture/execution].
Russia's Tsar Peter I never forgave Hetman Mazepa for supporting Sweden in its war with the Russian Empire and for Ukraine’s independence. The population of the city in 1708 was 20,000. By 1726 the city was a ghost town. Peter I did not stop there, but accelerated violence towards Ukraine, stifling its language & culture and usurping the ancient name of Kyivan Rus. In 1721, Peter I renamed his territory from “Muscovy” to “Russia” and proclaimed himself “Emperor of all the Russias (Rus)”.
In June of 1993, the Ukrainian government declared Baturyn the centre of a national site of Ukrainian history and culture. In August, 2002, a government program was approved to restore Baturyn to its former glory. On January22, 2009, Ukraine's President Viktor Yushchenko officially opened the Hetmans' Capital Monumental complex with the newly renovated Razumovsky Palace.

Pro-Moscow Igor Dodon claims Moldova's presidency
Pro-Russian candidate Igor Dodon says he has won the second round of Moldova's presidential election. With almost all the ballots counted, Mr Dodon, who wants to restore close ties with Russia, has 55% of the vote. His rival, pro-European candidate Maia Sandu, is far behind with 45%.
The national vote marks the first direct presidential election in Moldova for 20 years.
Since 1996 presidents of Moldova have been chosen by parliament.
The election was seen as a battle between those supporting closer ties with Russia and those wanting integration with the European Union.
Speaking shortly after the closure of polling stations on Sunday, Mr Dodon called on Ms Sandu to preserve public order and abstain from protests.

Short answer : no Long answer : NOOOOOOOOOOO!
