I donate most of my clothes to the women's shelter and everything
else to Goodwill.'Life is not the way it's supposed to be. It's the way it is. The way you cope with it is what makes the difference.'

I have a couple of yard sales every summer with my family.....I usually try to sell the kids clothes there.
I make sure everything is cleaned - anything unusable gets used for rags.
I make a clothes rack and put everything on hangers - We get alot of comments on how neat and organized everything is. I believe I get rid of alot of stuff by having it this way. People are more likely to flip through things hung up rather than dig in boxes or a heap on a table.
I just save all the plastic store hangers to use for the yard sale.
Whatever is left over and I don't want to save for the next yard sale - there is a lady I call who will stop by and pick up all our unwanted clothes, household stuff, etc and give it to families at her church. She went with a car load last year - front, back and trunk!Want to be like Redmouse? * Join me here at SC * Tell them Redmouse sent you!!

People are more likely to see through things hung up instead of digging in crates or a stack on a table. But mostly I'm friends / family. Or I take it to Goodwill. I do not like foreigners who come to me, if some things that I sell online.

I try to donate as much as I can, but the two thrift stores in our area are stuffed to the max (with mostly crap) so they are very fussy about taking donations. I had some luck with kids clothes at a garage sale last summer, and tried Kijiji recently too...but that was a huge disappointment.

When it comes to baby clothes, anything is great condition gets listed on Kijiji and the money goes into DS' piggy bank. If it's something that is stained, I will usually list it for free and mention that it can be used for play clothes or whatever.
As for DH's and my clothes, I usually list it on kijiji free for the taking, or take it to Value village down the road.

I keep most of my clothes until they are so worn out they aren't donatable any more. But if I buy something that I end up not liking for some reason, I put it in a used clothing donation bin.

It depends on what I have. I never sell clothes, because I barely pay anything for them as it is.
I donate all my old clothes to my favorite little thrift store, and anything stained or unwearable will go to the SPCA.

Right now Please Mum has a promotion on. If you bring in an article of kids clothing, they give you coupons with a cash value (.50, 1.00, 2.00) to redeem in the store for new ones. The used ones do not need to be their brand and they do not want winter jackets as they are donating them to kids in Africa. It really is a win win situation if you need new ones for your kids. The details are posted on their website if you are interested. They also have a great clearance sale on right now.

Normally drop it off at Sally Ann, I've tried the yardsale route, but...I'm not a morning person, I hate people, I hate people looking at my things, I hate haggling...I could go on...I find it easier to donate, nicer things that were only worn a few times can get brought to consignment stores, but I do that maybe 1-2 times a year and it's generally just dresses or skirts...or nice blouses that I never really wore...
