BLOWING SNOW ADVISORY
ssued at 10:48 Thursday 23 March 2017
Snow will taper off over the Great Northern Peninsula this afternoon and over northeastern Newfoundland tonight. Total snowfall accumulations of 10 to 20 cm are expected by Friday morning.
Strong northerly winds over the Great Northern Peninsula will spread southeastward throughout the day. Wind gusts are expected between 70 and 90 km/h with the possibility of some exposed areas exceeding those values. The fresh snowfall and strong winds will combine to reduce visibilities to near zero at times in blowing snow today and tonight, especially along exposed areas of the coast.
