    @spanishpoet can you tell me how you got the $80 for freelance writing? I am a professional writer and I had to chase after major companies for literally a year to get payment. It's a horrible business. I have lots of writer friends who have given up and found full time jobs because waiting for people to pay makes it hard to pay your own bills

    @torontogal12 - that's terrible! I can only imagine how stressful it must be!

    I have companies that have contacted me after viewing my blog with offers, and so far, they've all paid. I do not give them permission to use my work until payment has been made.

    I also just picked up a gig I found on Kijiji for a local company. Since they were local, I was able to meet up with them and get a feel for them. Found that job in the 'Other' job section. It's certainly not enough to live off, but it's getting my name out there, and giving me a bit of extra cash.

    Good luck with your business! Getting clients is hard enough in the freelance business - never mind having to chase them down for compensation.

    We had our first garage sale of the year. It's a lot of work, but we made $374.75 today.

    I sold two other things this week for $7.

    April 2017 (tentative totals-have two days to find and verify in my spreadsheet).
    $ 6.28-value of two free McCafe hot choc bevvies
    $ 3.81-value of found Starbucks gift card
    $12.89-coupons redeemed (incl. 1 FPC)
    $ 0.90-Cdn Tire money redeemed
    $88.87-found money & lottery wins (incl. $20x2 found, $17 in lotto wins and remainder in coins and container deposit refunds).
    112.75

    Not expecting May to be as stellar as March and April. Did win 6000 PC Plus points but I do not value them until a redemption is done.
