I sometimes use produce bags for 2-3 items but not all grocery stores have the handled kind. I usually carry an extra produce bag home in case I find cans or pick up some trash for the bin at a bus stop (seeing fewer coffee cups on the ground lately).

Always carry my own reusable bags. FreshCo bags are 99cents and have a lifetime guarantee. The ones I have were bought years ago and replaced free as they wear out.

I just had to share: Today an item we were thinking of getting was on sale $139 ($10 off reg) at Staples till tonight closing. I was able to use my Airmiles to get $60 in evouchers plus signed up to Staples email list which got me a $10 off any purchase over $100 coupon. I dashed over and picked up the last one on the shelf and I was able to save $80 off reg price and paid
$86.90 after taxes! YIPPY!!

Just cashed out $20.25 on Mom's CO51 and got my tax refund for a whopping $78.53 (CPP/EI Overpay), but will start to get Trillium again in May/June for this tax return for a whole $51.00/month

I seem to be using far less coupons in a month. It was 15.00 last month and that's feeding a family of 4 with 2 teenage boys. But I do love PC points. 40.00 saved yesterday and the teen now has his 10% off as he has been at the RCSS for over 6 months. I don't take advantage of it often but is certainly is nice when I am picking him up for work and getting groceries at the same time.
Friends don't let real friends pay full price.

@spanishpoet can you tell me how you got the $80 for freelance writing? I am a professional writer and I had to chase after major companies for literally a year to get payment. It's a horrible business. I have lots of writer friends who have given up and found full time jobs because waiting for people to pay makes it hard to pay your own bills
