Some stores carry small sizes of syrup for $4.99 so there are a number of options for getting free syrup. However, so far, I've discovered the best combination at Walmart where the cereal is on roll-back for $2.94 and the "Our Finest" brand is $4.48 (in Ontario) for a relatively large bottle. And, thanks to the overage option at Walmart, the full $5.00 means you'll get both the cereal AND the syrup for a total of $2.42.
I went to WM today with the coupon and tried to buy a box of Cheerios and a bottle of maple syrup. At first, the cashier refused the coupon because the name brand on the bottle was "Our Finest" and not "100% maple syrup". When I told her that 100% maple syrup is a product, not a name brand, she left her station at the Express checkout, and went all the way back to search the shelf for a product called "100% maple syrup.

She finally concluded that Walmart doesn't sell the product I'm looking for. She said she would let me use the coupon just this once, even though they don't sell the product.

That's what I thought when she left. She left for so long that my DD began climbing the bagging area. I was truly surprised when I saw her coming out of the maple syrup/breakfast aisle.

Went to RCSS to pm the Extra Lean beef on at RCSS. Noticed beef packages with "special" stickers on them. Family packs selling for $2.18KG!!!! WOOHOO. I loaded up my cart with all but 1 (11 packages around $4.80 each) Then checked my wallet for how many save $3.00 on fresh meat when you buy La grill product. I had 8 so went and grabbed 8 of the burger flavour pouches for $2.48 each. Saved an extra .52 cents off 8 packages of meat. Plus I had 100 PC pts per $1 spent on beef (usually I do get the 200 per $1 but still better then nothing) So received 5400 PC pts.
We will be busy making burger patties for the freezer and cooking up taco meat as well.

Sorry to read that you were given such a difficult time with the coupon. I've used multiples at 4 different Walmarts in my area. Several cashiers have checked with CSMs to ensure they can take the full $5.00 off and they've been told yes every time.

As I entered the RCSS, St. Catharines, I noticed a large display of Orville Redenbacher's popcorn with a $ .94 sign posted. I thought it might be close to the expiry date. Nope! Best before dates were end of October 2017. I bought a bag of Sweet and Salty and a bag of Buttered and used a new coupon zone $1.00 WUB2 coupon:

    2 x bags Orv Red popcorn @ $ .94 each - $1.00 WUB2 coupon = $ .88 (plus tax)

(I had several $2.00 printable coupons with me but I didn't want to waste them on this deal since RCSS doesn't give overage.)

    Also at RCSS today:

    16 x Meow Mix @ $3.99 - 16 x $2.00 coupons (tear-pad) = $31. 84 or $1.99 for a 2 kg bag

    Happy kitties, happy me!

(Odd pricing at RCSS: one bag is $7.98 but if you buy 2 or more, it's $3.99)

And my surprise deal at Sobeys on Glendale Ave., St. Catharines: I saw the Grill Ems on sale in the flyer but I didn't realize there was a bonus offer until I saw the poster in the meat department of the store:

    9 x packages of Schneiders Grill Ems @ $2.99 each = $26.91

    First surprise:

Get a FREE package of Maple Leaf Ready Crisp Bacon for every 3 Schneiders/Maple Leaf sausages/weiners so

3 x FREE Maple Leaf Ready Crisp Bacon

    Second surprise:

At the end of my transaction, the cashier handed me a gift card as part of an in-store promo when you purchase $25 or more meat so

a FREE $10 Sobeys gift card

I like these kinds of surprises!

Awesome shop what a saving. I was not aware that we could buy cold cuts and used the 3.00 LA Grille coupons. I thought we had to buy only fresh meat. Not sure if there is 2 version of the coupon.

That's why I made sure to state that I normally buy the fresh hamburg or chicken, but lunch meat is also fresh meat (it's meat, and it's not frozen)... like I said YMMV, but I went to my fav cashier who is a stickler with coupons and had no issue.
