Serhiy was born in 1958 in Odesa. He was an active participant of the Revolution of Dignity both in Odesa and Kyiv. He volunteered when war broke out in 2014, and served as officer in a tank division of the 72nd Separate Mechanized Brigade.
Serhiy leaves behind his grieving mother and granddaughter.

Ihor Humenchuk died suddenly while on duty in Mariupol on February 26, 2019.

Ihor was born on February 25, 1974 in Bibrka, Lviv Oblast; resided in Lviv. He served as senior sergeant in the Police Battalion “Lviv”of the National Police Force of Ukraine. He enlisted in June 2014 in the “Lviv” Battalion and fought at Stanytsia Luhanska, Lysychansk, Krymske, etc. He was awarded the MFA medal “For Exemplary Service”.

Ihor leaves behind his older brother, wife, 2 sons and a daughter.

Oleksandr Medentsev was laid to rest in his hometown on March 1, 2019.

Oleksandr was killed by a sniper bullet near Novooleksandrivka, Luhansk Oblast on February 25, 2019. After hours of negotiations with Russian-backed militants in the presence of OSCE observers, the Ukrainian side was able to evacuate Oleksandr’s body from the combat zone.

Oleksandr was born on October 28, 1985 in Soledar, Donetsk Oblast. he served as deputy commander and gunner of an armoured vehicle in the 54th Separate Mechanized Brigade.

Observers of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission spot 22 Grad multiple rocket launchers in occupied Katerynivka, 8km west of Luhansk. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin said that navigation off the coast of occupied Crimea should be monitored from space, from the air, and from the sea.

42-year-old Andriy Bertash was killed in a road accident in Rivne on March 1, 2019.

Andriy was born in Barmaky, Rivne Oblast. When war broke out in 2014, Andriy volunteered and served as sergeant in the 2nd Separate Motorized Infantry Battalion “Horyn” until 2016. He founded the ATO Veterans Union of Rivne and Rivne Oblast in 2015.

21-year-old Bohdan Sloboda was killed in Donetsk Oblast on March 6, 2019.

Bohdan was born in Novoyavorivsk, Lviv Oblast on May 13, 1997. In 2014, he enrolled in Hetman Petro Sahaidachny National Academy of Ground Forces.

After graduation, he enlisted in the 128th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade. Bohdan leaves behind his grieving parents.

March 7

On 6 March Russian terrorist forces launched 11 attacks on Ukrainian positions in Luhansk, Donetsk and Mariupol sectors, using heavy artillery and mortars proscribed by Minsk all of the attacks.

For the first time since the beginning of the year, the enemy has used heavy 152mm howitzers.


Ukrainian servicemen of the Joint-Forces Operations incurred no casualties.

2 enemy insurgents killed, 3 wounded, 1 piece of equipment destroyed, according to the military intelligence.


On 5 March, a civilian humanitarian aid and medical care facility was hit in the settlement of Travneve in the area of Svitlodarsk using the anti-tank grenade-launcher RPG-7. Luckily, no one was hurt.


On 6 March, 122mm artillery was used from temporarily occupied Bayrak to strike the premises of the Bakhmut Agrarian Union in Novoluhanske

This weekend, Ukrainians all over the world honour Taras Shevchenko, Ukrainian poet, writer, bard, artist, public and political figure, as well as folklorist and ethnographer, also well known for many masterpieces as a painter and an illustrator.

Taras Shevchenko (March 9, 1814 – March 10,1861) His literary heritage is regarded to be the foundation of modern Ukrainian literature and, to a large extent, the modern Ukrainian language.

He was a member of the Sts. Cyril and Methodius Brotherhood and an academician of the Imperial Academy of Arts. In 1847, Shevchenko was convicted for writing in the Ukrainian language, promoting the independence of Ukraine, and ridiculing members of the Russian Imperial House.

During the 2014 Revolution of Dignity (Euromaidan), Shevchenko became (and still is) a symbol of national pride, resistance and patriotism.

Dmytro was born in Kalush, Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast on December 7, 1989; resided in the village of Kadobna. He served in the war zone with the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade in 2015 and 2016.
