Welcome To Marwen 7/10
It is necessary to be a huge fan of Steve Carell to enjoy this flick, thankfully I love all his comedy and his dramatic roles from the past.
I enjoyed this comedic interview with a few cast members perhaps more than the film itself? ( whoops )

That being said I was left a little unsatisfied by the flick....but nothing I can really put my finger on.
Based on a real life ( and quite sad ) event.

Ad Astra 4/10
I'm only giving it that much out of respect for Brad Pitt and Tommy Lee Jones previous acting roles.
What a waste of Liv Tyler and Ruth Negga! Their roles were forgetful.
Wonderful movie IF YOU SUFFER FROM INSOMNIA!! o.k. maybe I'm ticked off that I wasted a free admission using my Scene points.

Had not seen it since 1985, but watched Silverado on Friday night. Still a good movie with great actors. 10/10 for me.

Downton Abbey 10 for me, but I was a fan of the series. Dame Maggie Smith does not disappoint.

DH and I bit the bullet ( right as the Leafs allowed Montreal to go ahead 5-4 with a few minutes left!! grrr! ) and went to see Joker. I will not call this a movie but rather a chilling and emotional performance by Joaquin Phoenix.
He deserves " something " for this portrayal ( pick an award show ) , honestly, simply magnificent!
Now the tough part was the violence, and also the s-l-o-w moving nature of the first half of the film (as the tension builds )to it's inevitable conclusion.
I give this an 8/10 BUT you it may be a requirement to have an admiration for Joaquins' process, otherwise you may not enjoy this role or the film at all.
Once back home we checked the Sports highlights, and bloody H-E double hockey sticks didn't our Leafs tie it back up at 5-5 only to eventually lose the game in a Shootout! ha ha
Did I mention that they had held a 4-1 LEAD!? Oh Maple Buds....don't do this all over again, giving away games!Last edited by walkonby; Sun, Oct 6th, 2019 at 08:28 AM.
