Or the other thing is I think the timing of this. I think people have over bought and now may be tight on cash flow and are in a panic. I hear a lot of people saying they cannot pay April's bills so even if you did not over buy you may be looking for cash.

I know at my work we have reminded our staff of return policies as we have customers contacting us saying they cannot pay which usually leads to returns increasing to get some cash flow.

As a generalized simplification, people who bought so much they now want to return some or all of their purchases weren't being completely rationally in the first place, so it's not a major shock that they still aren't.

It's mainly alcohol and aloe (basically) -- as long as it's been sealed shut all this time so the alcohol didnt evaporate, you should be fine.
Also, read the label and ensure that it exceeds 60% alcohol content. Otherwise, it's pointless.

Really your best combatant is a frequent and vigourous wash with soap and water. And dont touch your face.

The Covid-19 virus cant penetrate your skin, but can enter through eyes, ears, nose, and mouth.

walkonby, I am guessing that the same people who got the idea to buy from social media, are also learning that it is getting difficult to return or resell. For example, one guy bought over 17000 bottle of hand sanitizer and is now banned from Amazon. Local social media banned him too. I think police were planning to pay him a visit. I think he finally donated to health care places that needed it.

I also heard that in the US some hospitals have no masks and people who hoarded masks are donating these too.

    How are these things connected?
The border is only closed to casual travel. Commerce will still flow.

Any food, supplies, ingredients, etc that are used to make items here, will still be allowed into the country.

@Aquaria, I think it's garbage The manufacturer tests the hand sanitizer and puts an expiry date based on their tests. They test to see if the hand sanitizer will kill bacteria/yeast/mold/viruses.

As the alcohol evaporates over time, the percentage of your hand sanitizer’s active ingredient drops, making it less effective.

Suggestion: use soap and water instead. If going out, wear your winter gloves to hold on to shopping carts. Keep your hands away from your face. Wash hands with soap and water as soon as you can.

I think people are going to over react to this news that it is not just what they see on tv and read about on social media but it is actually really happening here. So they will start buying way above normal what they would normally purchase.

I have 2 of these tempurature guns. Firstly, we use for cooking. Secondly, it's a laser toy for Muffy. Thirdly, we can now take our temperatures.

Things have come a long way.
When my kids were babies, there were glass thermometers that you put under your tongue or stick it up your butt.
Then we had this strip that you put on your forehead.
I never owned the electric ear ones, I checked my kids temperature by putting my lips on their forehead.
Thank goodness my kids were not sick very often.

    Stay safe everyone.

I saw a post on facebook from someone that works at a Walmart customer service desk, showing 7 or 8 big containers of formula. Said it was panic bought, then returned because the people claimed they didn't need it anymore.
And it all went in the garbage.
    Such a waste.

    Interesting face book post

    Information
    passed on from nursing staff.

Truer words have not been spoken sharing:

Sorry if I lose any of you, but I need to get this off my chest. Your gloves
and masks you’re wearing to the grocery store? Not going to help you. In
fact, likely to do more harm. Here’s why:

    1. As soon as you touch anything with your gloves they’re contaminated.
Seriously. Grocery cart? That’s on your gloves. Touch your gloves to a
can of soup? Transfer of germs. Wear those gloves into the car? Now
on your steering wheel. I wear them at work for one task and remove. Then wash.
Put on a new pair. I go through dozens in a shift. Just wash wash wash. Over
    and over.

    2. That mask, it’s not helping you. It’s no more effective than staying
6feet away from someone. If you stay home, you don’t need it. You know who
needs it? Me. I can’t start IVs, do cpr, suction airways and give meds
from 6feet away. I NEED THE MASK. You should also know that after wearing
a paper mask for roughly half an hour, the moisture from your breathing makes
it penetrable. It’s no longer effective for you anyway. But it works for me to
provide care to a single patient and remove it. If 5 of you didn’t use masks,
I’d be protected for care of 5 patients.

    3. Just stay home. I swear to you if I could I would. Open your windows. Clean
out the fridge. Watch some Netflix. It’s a staycation. Just do it. So many
people praising healthcare workers for going in and doing our jobs. It’s nice,
but the best thank you we can get is to commit to stopping the spread. You
might say when this is all over, it wasn’t as bad as we said it would be.
That’s because what we advised worked. And if you want to complain about it
being overkill, go for it. I’ll happily keep my mouth shut while you shame us
    for inconveniencing you.

    4. Be kind. Please and thank you.

    With love, Nurse Nancy
